Acid peptic disease (APD) is the most common health issue among rotational shift workers, including night shifts. Alterations in diet patterns from the routines of life play a key role in the development of APD in this population. This study aims to determine food habits and evaluate the effect of a healthy lifestyle intervention on reducing the frequency of the occurrence of APD among rotational shift workers.

Mental health disorders and substance abuse are prevalent issues that significantly impact individuals and societies. Medical students are particularly vulnerable due to the intense pressures and challenges inherent in medical education. This current investigation aims to explore the mental health status and patterns of substance abuse among medical students, identifying associated factors and potential interventions.

COVID-19 Vaccine Hesitancy Among Pregnant and Lactating Mothers Attending Government Health Care Centers in Karaikal, South India.

Introduction And Aim: The Government of India has endorsed COVID-19 vaccination for pregnant and lactating mothers. However, the vaccine acceptance rate among this target group is not satisfactory. The study aimed to assess the awareness level, acceptance rate, and hesitancy for COVID-19 vaccination among pregnant and lactating mothers attending government health care centers and to identify the psycho-social factors associated with vaccine hesitancy.

Referral chain of patients with obstetric emergency from primary care to tertiary care: A gap analysis.

Background: The referral system plays a crucial role in antenatal care and childbearing by providing access to emergency obstetric care. Excess referral from primary care and bypassing secondary levels of care leads to overcrowding of high risk and normal mothers in tertiary centers. Hence, this study aims to assess the gaps in the referral of patients with obstetric emergency from primary care to tertiary care.

A community-based cross-sectional study on hypertension screening in Puducherry, India.

Background & Objectives: Hypertension is a health problem of global priority. Screening and early diagnosis is important to plan appropriate interventions. The present study objectives were to screen the urban population aged 30 yr and above and diagnose for hypertension and to identify the factors associated with poor screening for hypertension, if any.

Effects of vitamin D and calcium supplementation on side effects profile in patients of breast cancer treated with letrozole.

Background: Vitamin D deficiency (<10ng/mL) and insufficiency (10-30ng/mL) may contribute to musculoskeletal symptoms observed in patients taking letrozole. This study was undertaken to assess the vitamin D status in breast cancer patients who received letrozole for >2months and to see the effects of vitamin D3 and calcium supplementation on them.
