Fetal complete atrioventricular block (CAVB) is usually autoimmune mediated. The risk of developing CAVB is 2% to 3% in anti-Ro/SS-A seropositive pregnancies and it increases 10 times after previous CAVB in siblings. Background/aims: Prostate specific antigen (PSA) is regulated by steroid hormones, such as testosterone, the serum levels of which are altered in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD).This pilot study compared serum levels of the free (f) PSA between AD, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and control subjects, and evaluated the relationship between fPSA serum levels and cognitive assessment tests and neuroimaging data. Background: We investigated Fingolimod treatment effects on the RAGE (receptor for advanced glycation endproducts) axis in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients. Abstracts We report the case of a patient with rhabdomyoma of the left ventricular outflow tract, causing severe obstruction at birth. The tumour regressed completely by 6 years of age, leaving a punch-out lesion. Equal size air bubbles that are entrapped by a Taylor vortex of the secondary flow in a Couette device, thereby defying buoyancy, slowly form a stable ordered ring with equal separation distances between all neighbors. We present two models of the process dynamics based on force balance on a bubble in the presence of other bubbles positioned on the same streamline in a simple shear flow. The forces taken into account are the viscous resistance, the added mass force, and the inertia-induced repulsing force between two bubbles in a low-Reynolds-number shear flow obtained in Prakash et al.
