Background: To compare the value and efficiency of the three-dimensional (3D) heads-up surgical system and traditional microscopic (TM) system in teaching and learning vitreoretinal surgeries.
Methods: Twenty ophthalmologists and scrub nurses were recruited as teachers, and 45 junior ophthalmology residents and trainee doctors, trainee nurses, and medical students were recruited as observers. Each teacher and observer were assigned to both a 3D-assisted and TM-assisted vitreoretinal surgery and then asked to complete satisfaction questionnaires for both surgical systems at the end of each surgery.
Procaspase 9 is the initiator caspase for apoptosis, but how its levels and activities are maintained remains unclear. The gigantic Inhibitor-of-Apoptosis Protein BIRC6/BRUCE/Apollon inhibits both apoptosis and autophagy by promoting ubiquitylation of proapoptotic factors and the key autophagic protein LC3, respectively. Here we show that BIRC6 forms an anti-parallel U-shaped dimer with multiple previously unannotated domains, including a ubiquitin-like domain, and the proapoptotic factor Smac/DIABLO binds BIRC6 in the central cavity.

However, it remains unclear whether the developmental status of stressed ramets affects the role of clonal integration. Here, we explored the effects of clonal integration at both the ramet level and the whole clonal fragment level when the apical ramets (younger) and basal ramets (older) were subjected to different concentrations of cadmium contamination.

We aimed to summarize the current evidence and clarify the clinical features and prognosis of CMVR in AIDS patients.
Methods: The databases PubMed, EMBASE, and Ovid from inception to April 2022 were searched to identify the relevant studies.
We assessed the clinicopathological features and prognostic values of KRAS, NRAS, BRAF, and DNA mismatch repair status in colorectal cancer (CRC) to provide real-world data in developing countries. We enrolled 369 CRC patients and analyzed the correlation between RAS/BRAF mutation, mismatch repair status with clinicopathological features, and their prognostic roles. The mutation frequencies of KRAS, NRAS, and BRAF were 41.

Objectives: To study the clinical and gastroscopic features of children with cyclic vomiting syndrome.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on the medical data of 63 children with cyclic vomiting syndrome who were hospitalized and followed up in Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, School of Clinical Medicine, Tsinghua University from August 2019 to March 2022.
Results: Among the 63 children, there were 30 boys and 33 girls, with a mean age of 6.
Purpose: To compare the three-dimensional (3D) heads-up surgery with the traditional microscopic (TM) surgery for various vitreoretinal diseases.
Methods: A medical record review of patients that underwent 3D heads-up or TM vitreoretinal surgeries was performed from May 2020 to October 2021 in this retrospective case-control study. Main outcome measures included surgery-related characteristics, efficacy, safety, and satisfaction feedback from the surgical team.

Objective: To investigate the efficacy of high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) patients treated by different doses of decitabine (DAC) and its safety.
Methods: Thirty patients with high-risk MDS were all treated by demethylation drug DAC. According to the doses of DAC, 30 patients were divided into 10-day regimen [6 mg/(m·d)×10 d, 15 patients] group and 5-day regimen [15 mg/(m·d)×5 d, 15 patients] group.
Chronic administration of methamphetamine (METH) leads to physical and psychological dependence. It is generally accepted that METH exerts rewarding effects via competitive inhibition of the dopamine transporter (DAT), but the molecular mechanism of METH addiction remains largely unknown. Accumulating evidence shows that mitochondrial function is important in regulation of drug addiction.

Nevertheless, its regulatory mechanisms are still not fully understood. Here, we report that ubiquitin specific peptidase 3 (USP3) promotes proliferation and metastasis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) cells by mediating deubiquitination of Aurora A.

Yijinjing is a traditional Chinese aerobic exercise that has a putative psychosomatic effect on improving cognitive function. From January to May 2021, 40 patients with chronic schizophrenia were recruited and randomly divided into a control group and a Yijinjing group.

The Traditional Chinese herbal decoction Liu-Yu-Tang (LYT) has achieved clinical improvement for AAD-induced MetS, but its pharmacological mechanism remains unclear.
Method: A network pharmacology-based method was utilized in this study.

Objectives: Environmental and genetic factors play important roles in the development of schizophrenia (SCZ), bipolar disorder (BPD) or major depressive disorder (MDD). Some risk loci are identified with shared genetic effects on major psychiatric disorders. To investigate whether gene played a significant role in these psychiatric disorders in the Han Chinese population.

Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate possible interactions in red wine model solutions between oenin and three phenolic compounds: danshensu, caffeic acid and rosmarinic acid. Our results show that the copigmentation of rosmarinic acid is the strongest among the compounds tested.

Macrophages are a group of immune cells with pluripotency and plasticity that can differentiate into different phenotypes under different microenvironments in vitro and in vivo. In the development of pulmonary fibrosis, there are alveolar macrophages and interstitial macrophages, which are polarized to different cell phenotypes at different stages of development. And their polarized phenotypes include M1 macrophages and M2 macrophages.

The influence of the pigment/copigment molar ratio, the reaction temperature, the pH and the ethanol content of solutions has been examined. The results showed that the copigmentation effect was dependent on not only the particular structures of the phenolic compounds but also the factors of the reaction systems.
