Platinum resistance is a common cause of chemotherapy failure in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). Competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs), which function by competitively binding to miRNAs, can influence drug response. However, the regulatory mechanisms of ceRNAs underlying chemoresistance in LUAD remain largely unknown.

In recent years, cancer immunotherapy has received widespread attention due to significant tumor clearance in some malignancies. Various immunotherapy approaches, including vaccines, immune checkpoint inhibitors, oncolytic virotherapy, bispecific T cell engagers, and adoptive T cell transfer, have completed or are undergoing clinical trials for prostate cancer. Despite immune checkpoint blockade's extraordinary effectiveness in treating a variety of cancers, targeted prostate cancer treatment using the immune system is still in its infancy.

Architectures based on a magnetic domain wall (DW) can store and process information at a high speed in a nonvolatile manner with ultra-low power consumption. Recently, transition-metal rare earth metal alloy-based ferrimagnets have attracted a considerable amount of attention for the ultrafast current-driven DW motion. However, the high-speed DW motion is subject to film inhomogeneity and device edge defects, causing challenges in controlling the DW motion and hindering practical application.

In southern China, α-thalassemia is the most prevalent hereditary monogenic disorder, and deletion variants are the predominant form. Conventional thalassemia diagnosis techniques are numerous, however they are all limited in their ability to detect rare deletions. Here, we discuss a family who sought genetic counseling during their fourth pregnancy after experiencing Hb Bart's hydrops fetalis in two of their previous pregnancies.

To uncover the complex immune mechanisms driving inflammation in ankylosing spondylitis and lay the groundwork for identifying new therapeutic targets and innovative approaches, we conducted 10× single-cell sequencing on bone marrow cell samples collected from the vertebrae of three AS patients and three non-AS patients. Using single-cell sequencing data, we analysed the expression of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) by comparing AS patients with non-AS patients. Key genes among the related DEGs were identified through protein-protein interaction networks and hub gene screening and further validated using immunohistochemistry.

Accurate precipitation data is an important state variable in various application fields such as geohazard early warning, flood, and drought hazard monitoring and evaluation. This study proposed a precipitation reforecast inversion model based on Random Forest and Wavelet Multi-Resolution Analysis (RF-WMRA) method. In the basin along the Sichuan-Tibet Railway, we constructed the reforecast inversion model by using the fifth generation of atmospheric reanalysis of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ERA5) and Global Satellite Mapping of Precipitation (GSMaP) precipitation data and considering several geo-environmental variables such as elevation, humidity, temperature, and wind speed.

Excessive intestinal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R)-induced epithelial cell apoptosis results in damage to the intestinal defense barrier. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are functional RNA transcripts, and their functions as microRNA (miRNA) sponges and binding proteins have been well characterized. Recent evidence has indicated that some circRNAs encode functional proteins.

Background: Several systematic reviews (SRs) and meta-analyses (MAs) have explored the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), but findings are inconsistent and vary in quality. Therefore, this overview aims to evaluate these SRs and MAs critically, synthesizing existing evidence on acupuncture in treating CTS.

Methods: We searched 7 databases from their inception to April 25, 2024, using the keywords "acupuncture", "carpal tunnel syndrome", and "systematic review".

Pyroptosis, an inflammatory regulated cell death (RCD) mechanism, is characterized by cellular swelling, membrane rupture, and subsequent discharge of cellular contents, exerting robust proinflammatory effects. Recent studies have significantly advanced our understanding of pyroptosis, revealing that it can be triggered through inflammasome- and caspase-independent pathways, and interacts intricately with other RCD pathways (e.g.

Optical neural networks (ONNs) are promising hardware platforms for next-generation neuromorphic computing due to their high parallelism, low latency, and low energy consumption. However, previous integrated photonic tensor cores (PTCs) consume numerous single-operand optical modulators for signal and weight encoding, leading to large area costs and high propagation loss to implement large tensor operations. This work proposes a scalable and efficient optical dot-product engine based on customized multi-operand photonic devices, namely multi-operand optical neuron (MOON).

Rainwater harvesting is a viable solution for providing clean water in regions where conventional water sources are scarce or contaminated. However, the harvested rainwater often contains microorganisms, suspended particles, and other impurities that must be removed before consumption. Gravity-driven ceramic membranes (GDCMs) are an efficient choice for purifying harvested rainwater due to their energy-saving properties.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the reaction mechanism of wulfenite with an aqueous sodium sulfide solution and thereby provide guidance for the sulfidization flotation and sodium sulfide leaching of wulfenite. For this purpose, dissolution/leaching behavior analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) were performed. The dissolution/leaching analysis indicated that sodium sulfide can induce the dissolution of PbMoO.

CH-SCR denitrification technology faces catalyst deactivation problems and low catalytic performance at medium-low temperatures. This study utilized the intermetallic synergies to prepare atomic cluster catalysts (FeNiCu/NC) by anchoring Fe-Ni-Cu on a carbon matrix to enhance the CH-SCR performance at medium-low temperatures. The synergistic effect of the Fe-Ni-Cu is reflected in the differences in the physicochemical properties of the catalysts, which is proved by several characterization techniques.

All-inorganic lead halide perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) have excellent optoelectronic properties and promising applications. Improving the stability of inorganic halide NCs and optimizing their photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQY) has become an urgent task. Constructing core-shell structures is an effective method to improve the environmental stability and PLQY, however, realizing core-shell structured perovskite NCs with good dispersion and multiple perovskites encapsulated within the shell material remains challenging.

To overcome the problems of Gd-based contrast agents (GBCAs) (nephrotoxicity and brain deposition) and stimulator of interferon genes (STING) agonists (poor stability, low delivery efficiency, and potential toxicity), in this study, a Turbo-charging system-like GBCA is designed and constructed for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) guided STING pathway-activated cancer immunotherapy. Poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) is used to coordinate with Gd, forming a Gd/PAA macrochelate. Both Gd/PAA macrochelate and SR717 are conjugated to cystamine (CA) to obtain SR717-CA@Gd/PAA self-assembled nanoparticles (SAN), which are termed as Turbo S because of its similarity with the Turbo-charging system of cars.
