Here, we determine whether the signatures of tsRNAs in serum can serve as biomarkers for diagnosis or prognosis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
Methods: Initially, small RNA sequencing was employed for the screening serum tsRNAs obtained from SLE patients, followed by validation with TaqMan probe-based quantitative reverse transcription-PCR (RT-PCR) assay.
Wound healing may be disrupted by lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced mitochondrial dysfunction, inflammation, and excessive oxidative stress, which can lead to undesirable consequences. The haematopoietic cell-specific protein 1-associated protein X-1 (HAX-1) is a mitochondrial matrix protein that regulates mitochondrial function. This study aimed to comprehensively identify the role of HAX-1 in the inhibition of LPS-induced mitochondrial dysfunction and apoptosis in human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs).

However, the poor stability of CsPbI NCs has become a huge bottleneck for practical applications. Herein, we report an effective strategy of Mg-assisted passivation of surface defects to obtain high emission efficiency and stability in CsPbI NCs.

Patients with AF at high risk for stroke complicated with CCS from China Atrial Fibrillation Registry (CAFR) were enrolled. The patients were divided into non-antithrombotic (Non-AT) group, oral anticoagulants (OAC) group, antiplatelet therapy (APT) group (aspirin or clopidogrel), and dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) group (aspirin + clopidogrel) according to their antithrombotic strategies at baseline.

In this study, 321 chestnut samples from Shandong Province in China were analysed for the presence of mycotoxins. We screened for 14 mycotoxins including aflatoxins (AFs: AFB, AFB, AFG, AFG), deoxynivalenol (DON), 3-acetyldeoxynivalenol (3-ADON), 15-acetyldeoxynivalenol (15-ADON), T-2 toxin (T-2), zearalenone (ZEA), ochratoxin A (OTA), fumonisins (FB, FB, FB), and penicillic acid (PeA). Mycotoxins were detected in 56.

However, the practical EMW absorbing of these absorbers is still greatly hindered by the unmatched impedance properties and limited EMW absorbing ability. Tuning the morphologies at nanoscale and assembling the nanoarchitecture construction are essential to address this issue.

However, the lack of known umami peptides further prevents the understanding of the umami mechanism. The famous pufferfish (Takifugu flavidus) is a great resource for novel umami peptides, and we further analyze the umami characteristics of peptides based on multi-evaluation.

Our previous study suggested that recombinant human fibroblast growth factor (rFGF) 21 might be a potent therapeutic targeting multiple aspects of pathophysiology in T2DM stroke. This study aims to evaluate the potential effects of rFGF21 on cerebrovascular remodeling after T2DM stroke.

However, thromboembolic events stemming from the use of ECMO devices results in significant morbidity and mortality rates; the inner surface of the ECMO tubing comes into contact with the blood and can readily initiate coagulation. In addition, the tubing needs to be continually replaced due to thromboses on the inner tube wall, which not only increases the risk of infection but also the economic burden.

Research Aim: The aim of the study was to quantitatively measure the levels of viral antigens and deoxyribonucleic acid of hepatitis B virus in human milk from mothers infected with hepatitis B virus.
Methods: Fifty-five pairs of milk and serum samples from mothers with positive hepatitis B surface antigen, including 11 hepatitis B e antigen positive, were quantitatively tested to measure viral antigens by microparticle enzyme immunoassay and viral loads by real-time polymerase chain reaction assay.
Background: Gastric cancer (GC) is a malignant tumor of digestive tract with high mortality. Elucidating the molecular mechanisms of GC and obtaining new molecular targets are particularly important for the prevention and treatment of GC. The discovery of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) provides the possibility for further elucidating the molecular mechanisms of GC and discovering new molecular markers.

We aim to contribute to the establishment of novel therapeutic approaches against such malignancies. We examined whether and how cold atmospheric plasma delivers selectivity against AR-independent prostate cancers via cell viability, transwell assay, wound healing, cell apoptosis assay, flow cytometry, intracellular hydrogen peroxide determination assay, RONS scavenger assay and western blot using human normal epithelial prostatic cells PNT1A and AR-negative DU145 prostate cancer cells.

National physician master Professor BAN Xiu-wen believes that the spread of damp-evil is the pathologic foundation for inflammatory response of ectopic endometrium; accumulation of blood stasis is the pathological product of continuous inflammatory attacks, and the combination of dampness and stasis is the main pathogenesis for refractory EMs. Modern researches have shown that immune-inflammatory effect is the key mechanism for development of EMs, and is closely related to cell autophagy, all of which have made it become the hot spots in research of the pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of EMs.

Materials And Methods: We invited United State-based Radiation Oncologists (ROs) via email to answer an anonymous survey using a branching logic system addressing their use of SRS and WBRT for SCLC BMs.

Here, our purpose is to making observation of the biological role and function of lncRNA CDKN2B-AS1 in human breast cancer. Twenty-eight pairs of breast cancer tissue and adjacent normal tissue from breast cancer patients were used to investigate the expression of CDKN2B-AS1 by qRT-PCR.

Hypothesis: To investigate the prognosis of catheter ablation versus drug therapy in patients with AF and SCAD.
Methods: In total, 25 512 patients with AF in the Chinese AF Registry between 2011 and 2019 were screened for SCAD.
Purpose: In value-based health care delivery, radiation oncologists need to compare empiric costs of care delivery with advanced technologies, such as intensity-modulated proton therapy (IMPT) and intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). We used time-driven activity-based costing (TDABC) to compare the costs of delivering IMPT and IMRT in a case-matched pilot study of patients with newly diagnosed oropharyngeal (OPC) cancer.
Materials And Methods: We used clinicopathologic factors to match 25 patients with OPC who received IMPT in 2011-12 with 25 patients with OPC treated with IMRT in 2000-09.
Purpose: Proton beam therapy (PBT) is associated with less toxicity relative to conventional photon radiotherapy for head-and-neck cancer (HNC). Upfront delivery costs are greater, but PBT can provide superior long-term value by minimizing treatment-related complications. Cost-effectiveness models (CEMs) estimate the relative value of novel technologies (such as PBT) as compared with the established standard of care.
