Background: Life's Simple 7 (LS7), developed by the American Heart Association, addresses seven key health behaviors and relationship factors. Although LS7 has been studied in relation to various chronic diseases, its association with arthritis remains unclear. This study seeks to investigate the association between LS7 and arthritis, with particular emphasis on the mediating role of body fat percentage (BFP).

Background: Major depressive disorder (MDD) is one of the most serious mental disorders affecting adolescents worldwide. Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is widely acknowledged as a first-line treatment for severe depression, but the clinical response varies. Neutrophils and platelets are both related to the progression of MDD.

Iron-based materials have demonstrated significant efficacy in catalyzing hydrogen peroxide (HO) for the removal of antibiotics from aquatic environments. Green rust (GR), a hybrid valence state iron-based catalyst, was synthesized. By exploiting the catalytic properties of glucose oxidase (GOx) to generate HO from glucose (Glu), a GR-GOx/Glu system for the removal of recalcitrant organic compound 4-chlorophenol (4-CP) was constructed.

Objective: Limited research exists on the use of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) for adolescents with major depressive disorder (MDD). This study investigates the effects of ECT on inflammatory markers in adolescents aged 13-18 suffering from severe MDD, evaluating its efficacy in modulating cellular inflammatory markers and ameliorating depressive symptoms.

Methods: A cohort of 38 adolescents with severe MDD received standard antidepressant therapy along with 6-8 ECT sessions spanning two weeks.

Chevrel-type superatoms refer to the ligated transition metal chalcogenide clusters MEL, where the octahedral M is face-capped with cubic chalcogen E (E = S/Se/Te). Most transition metals can form such superatoms and many organic and inorganic ligands can be substituted in solution reactions, which allows these atomic precision species to be easily functionalized and their properties to be tunable. No test was reported for substituting the chalcogens with pnicogens in this class of materials.

Silicon (Si) is one of the most promising anode materials for high-energy-density lithium-ion batteries. However, the huge volume expansion hinders its commercial application. Embedding amorphous Si nanoparticles in a porous carbon framework is an effective way to alleviate Si volume expansion, with the pore volume of the carbon substrates playing a pivotal role.

Silicon monoxide (SiO) has attracted considerable interest as anode material for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). However, their poor initial Coulombic efficiency (ICE) and conductivity limit large-scale applications. Prelithiation and carbon-coating are common and effective strategies in industry for enhancing the electrochemical performance of SiO.

YEATS domain containing 2 (YEATS2), it may function as a proto-oncogene. This study aims to investigate if YEATS2 correlates with prognosis in hepatocellular carcinoma. The prognostic landscape of YEATS2 and its relationship with expression in hepatocellular carcinoma were deciphered with public databases, RT-qPCR and western-blot in tissue samples.

High spatiotemporal resolution data on near-surface ozone concentration distribution is of great significance for monitoring and controlling atmospheric ozone pollution and improving the living environment. Using TROPOMI-L3 NO, HCHO products, and ERA5-land high-resolution data as estimation variables, an XGBoost-LME model was constructed to estimate the near-surface ozone concentration in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region. The results showed that: ① Through correlation analysis, surface 2 m temperature (T2M), 2 m dewpoint temperature (D2M), surface solar radiation downwards (SSRD), tropospheric formaldehyde (HCHO), and tropospheric nitrogen dioxide (NO) were important factors affecting the near-surface ozone concentration in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region.

In order to improve the biological effect of proton therapy, the authors first propose a new method of boron-based proton-enhanced radiotherapy in a " ternary " radiotherapy mode, based on the existing sensitizing effect of proton radiotherapy: i.e, Boron-based mediators (B and B) induce the proton-hydrogen-boron fusion reaction of the low-energy protons arriving at the Bragg peak region of the tumor target area (p+B→3α) and thermal neutron capture (B+n→Li(0.84 MeV)+He(1.

Solar energy is widely used in photovoltaic power generation as a kind of clean energy. However, the liquid film, frosting, and icing on the photovoltaic module seriously limit the efficiency of photovoltaic power generation. We developed a composite coating (Y6-NanoSH) by combining an in situ photothermal and transparent Y6 organic film with a nanosuperhydrophobic material.

The regenerative treatment of infectious vertical bone defects remains difficult and challenging today. Current clinical treatments are limited in their ability to control bacteria and infection, which is unfavorable for new bone formation and calls for a new type of material with excellent osteogenic and antibacterial properties. Here a multifunctional scaffold is synthesized that mimics natural bone nanostructures by incorporating silver nanowires into a hierarchical, intrafibrillar mineralized collagen matrix (IMC/AgNWs), to achieve the therapeutic goals of inhibiting bacterial activity and promoting infectious alveolar bone augmentation in rats and beagle dogs.

Article Synopsis
  • CDK4/6 inhibitors dalpiciclib and abemaciclib are approved in China as first-line treatments for advanced hormone receptor-positive and HER2-negative breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
  • A Markov model was used to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of dalpiciclib combined with a non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor (NSAI) versus abemaciclib plus NSAI, using data from clinical trials.
  • Dalpiciclib plus NSAI resulted in 4.27 more quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs) and had a cost-effectiveness probability of 77.42%, indicating it is a more cost-effective option for treatment compared to abemaciclib plus NSAI

The development history of pMBRT, the biological role of minibeam, the mechanism of minibeam protection of tissues, the generation of minibeam (collimator method and magnetic focusing method), and the analysis of advantages and disadvantages of proton minibeam matrix arrays is introduced with advanced proton minibeam arrays (pMBRT). It is proposed that the combination of proton minibeam arrays and magnetic resonance fields can help to exploit the normal tissue protective function of pMBRT, and improve the precision of proton therapy.

Introduction: Fire and nitrogen (N) deposition each impact biodiversity and ecosystem productivity. However, the effect of N deposition on ecosystem recovery after fire is still far from understood, especially in coastal wetlands.

Methods: We selected a typical coastal shrubland to simulate three N deposition levels (0, 10, and 20 g N m year) under two different burned conditions (unburned and burned) in the Yellow River Delta of North China.

Introduction: As precipitation patterns are predicted to become increasingly erratic, the functional maintenance of warm-temperate forests constitutes a key challenge for forest managers. In this study, 2-year-old seedlings were selected to elucidate the mechanisms whereby they respond to soil water fluctuations and the drought hardening effects on plant carbohydrate dynamics.

Methods: Seedlings were trained under different soil water conditions for 2 months: drought (D), well-watered (W), 1-month drought and then 1-month well-watered (D-W), and 1-month well-watered and then 1-month drought (W-D).
