A Web-Based, Mobile-Responsive Application to Screen Health Care Workers for COVID-19 Symptoms: Rapid Design, Deployment, and Usage.

Background: As of July 17, 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected over 14 million people worldwide, with over 3.68 million cases in the United States. As the number of COVID-19 cases increased in Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health mandated that all health care workers be screened for symptoms daily prior to entering any hospital or health care facility.

Development of a Web-Based Nonoperative Small Bowel Obstruction Treatment Pathway App.

Objective: An electronic pathway for the management of adhesive small bowel obstruction (SBO) was built and implemented on top of the electronic health record. The aims of this study are to describe the development of the electronic pathway and to report early outcomes.

Methods: The electronic SBO pathway was designed and implemented at a single institution.

Smart Form framework as a foundation for clinical documentation platform.

Smart Form--a condition-driven documentation tool with integrated advanced decision support--is built on a flexible framework and is evolving into a platform for a variety of Web-based clinical documentation systems.

Evaluation of a commercial rule engine as a basis for a clinical decision support service.

Current implementation techniques constrain our ability to rapidly deploy and augment clinical decision support systems at Partners Healthcare Systems. We report on the use of a commercially-available rule engine system-iLog Rules-as the basis for a series of prototypes typifying Partners decision support applications. For three prototypical systems, we successfully decoupled the decision support component from application and support logic, and reimplemented that component using iLog.

Creating an enterprise-wide allergy repository at Partners HealthCare System.

A significant fraction of medication errors and preventable adverse drug events are related to drug-allergy interactions (DAIs). Computerized prescribing can help prevent DAIs, but an accurate record of the patient's allergies is required. At Partners HealthCare System in Boston, the patient's allergy list is distributed across several applications including computer physician order entry (CPOE), the outpatient medical record, pharmacy applications, and nurse charting applications.
