A Snapshot of Lymphedema in Ireland: Results from LIMPRINT.

To estimate the prevalence and impact of chronic edema (CE) in two Irish health care settings as part of LIMPRINT, an international study developed and co-ordinated by the International Lymphoedema Framework (ILF), and researched in Ireland by the National Lymphoedema Framework Ireland (NLFI). Data were collected using clinical assessment tools previously validated by the ILF. Three hospital settings were chosen, both an in-patient and out-patient oncology unit in Galway and a vascular out-patient unit in Dublin.

Scoping the impact of COVID-19 on the nexus of statelessness and health in Council of Europe member states.

Background: Stateless communities in Europe include ethnic Russians in the Baltic States, recent migrants, refugees, Roma, and other members of minority groups. Increases in COVID-19 infection have been observed in many European countries, including reported outbreaks in groups that include people and communities affected by statelessness, who often live in congested and sub-standard unhygienic conditions, work in informal sectors which hampers their adherence to public health measures (self-isolation/physical distancing/hand sanitation), or who are detained in immigration detention centres. The impact of COVID-19 on stateless people in Europe (estimated to be at least 600,000) is currently under researched, and there is an imperative to understand their experiences and situation, in order to generate evidence based measures, responses and actions to protect those most at risk.

Missing from the debate? A qualitative study exploring the role of communities within interventions to address female genital mutilation in Europe.

Introduction: Public attention on female genital mutilation (FGM) in diaspora communities is increasing in Europe, as health and social welfare implications become better understood. This study explored the role of potentially affected communities within interventions to address FGM in Europe, examining current practices, promising interventions and remaining gaps.

Methods: A qualitative study design incorporated 18 individual key informant interviews and five semistructured group interviews with policy-makers, service providers and community representatives.

Addressing female genital mutilation in Europe: a scoping review of approaches to participation, prevention, protection, and provision of services.

Background: Public and policy attention to female genital mutilation (FGM) in diaspora communities has increased in Europe, but research remains limited and misinformation abounds. As a first step to addressing these issues, this study explored FGM prevention and response interventions in Europe, using a scoping literature review and key informant interviews.

Methods: A scoping study design was selected, using Arksey and O'Malley's six-stage scoping framework to review identified sources.

Pilot of the BOOST-A™: An online transition planning program for adolescents with autism.

Background: Many adolescents with autism face difficulties with the transition from high school into post-school activities. The Better OutcOmes & Successful Transitions for Autism (BOOST-A™) is an online transition planning program which supports adolescents on the autism spectrum to prepare for leaving school. This study describes the development of the BOOST-A™ and aimed to determine the feasibility and viability of the program.
