Background: The prevalence of meningococcal carriage and serogroup distribution is crucial for assessing the epidemiology of invasive meningococcal disease, forecasting outbreaks and formulating potential immunization strategies. Following the meningococcal carriage studies conducted in Turkey in 2016 and 2018, we planned to re-evaluate meningococcal carriage in children, adolescents and young adults during the COVID-19 pandemic period.
Methods: In the MENINGO-CARR-3 study, we collected nasopharyngeal samples from 1585 participants 0-24 years of age, across 9 different centers in Turkey.
Cervical subcutaneous emphysema and pneumomediastinum without pneumothorax are exceedingly rare complications following rhinoplasty, with limited cases reported in the literature. This report presents a case of revision septorhinoplasty using autologous costal cartilage, where the patient complained of a sore throat 36 hours postoperatively. On physical examination, cervical subcutaneous emphysema was palpated, and radiologic evaluation confirmed both cervical subcutaneous emphysema and pneumomediastinum.

DLBCL can be further classified via genetic expression profiling into molecular subsets consisting of not-otherwise specified (NOS) subset being the most prevalent, germinal center B-cell-like (GCB) subset, and activated B-cell-like (ABC) subset. The ABC subset, marked by abnormal NF-κB signaling, is associated with poorer outcomes.

Patients who have undergone surgery are typically at high risk for a second operation. This report details the case of a 54-year-old male who underwent aortic valve replacement and mitral valve repair using a 34-ring, 14 years prior.

This study investigates the effects of botulinum toxin injections on pain, functionality, spasticity, and range of motion in hemiplegic patients with post-stroke spasticity.
Materials And Methods: The study involved a double-blind, prospective, randomized controlled trial with thirty-one stroke patients aged 35-80 who developed upper extremity spasticity.
High-energy nuclear collisions create a quark-gluon plasma, whose initial condition and subsequent expansion vary from event to event, impacting the distribution of the eventwise average transverse momentum [P([p_{T}])]. Disentangling the contributions from fluctuations in the nuclear overlap size (geometrical component) and other sources at a fixed size (intrinsic component) remains a challenge. This problem is addressed by measuring the mean, variance, and skewness of P([p_{T}]) in ^{208}Pb+^{208}Pb and ^{129}Xe+^{129}Xe collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.

Materials And Methods: This prospective study was conducted with early-stage breast cancer patients who had been enrolled in a previous study. For diagnosing lymphedema, physical examination, L-Dex® score, and circumferential measurement was used.
Objective: To investigate integrating an artificial intelligence (AI) system into diagnostic breast ultrasound (US) for improved performance.
Materials And Methods: Seventy suspicious breast mass lesions (53 malignant and 17 benign) from seventy women who underwent diagnostic breast US complemented with shear wave elastography, US-guided core needle biopsy and verified histopathology were enrolled. Two radiologists, one with 15 years of experience and the other with one year of experience, evaluated the images for breast imaging-reporting and data system (BI-RADS) scoring.

Purpose: Periarticular and generalized osteoporosis are well-known comorbidities of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), associated with either the disease itself or glucocorticoid therapy. This study was performed to quantitatively evaluate changes in the jawbones of patients with RA using fractal analysis (FA).
Materials And Methods: The study comprised 186 participants, including 144 women and 42 men.
Objective: This study aims to compare the results of cases with a history of assault presented to our emergency department over a period of three years with literature data and to share our experiences with colleagues.
Methods: Demographic characteristics, trauma findings, clinical conditions, surgical interventions, mortality, and outcomes of patients with a history of assault to the emergency department between 2020 and 2022 were retrospectively examined. The results were analyzed using the Number Cruncher Statistical System 2007 Statistical Software package program (Utah, USA).
Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have significantly improved the five-year survival rate for advanced melanoma. However, many patients exhibit resistance to ICI therapy. This study evaluated the efficacy and prognostic factors of anti-PD-1 (Group A) and nivolumab-ipilimumab (Group B) therapy in patients with advanced melanoma who were resistant to prior ICI therapy.

This innovative approach was initially viewed as experimental and was reserved for highly selected patients with unusual anatomic variants. In 2016, increasing numbers of procedures began to be performed, and in several centers, it is now offered as a standard of care option alongside surgical repair.

Early diagnosis is important for effective treatment planning. Precise dental disease segmentation requires reliable tooth numbering, which may be prone to errors if performed manually.

Surface contaminants, such as nanoparticles, can influence the performance of silicon wafers, thereby necessitating the evolution of novel cleaning methodologies. Surface nanobubbles (SNs) are phenomena that have attracted considerable attention over the past decade.

In a pediatric gastroenteritis patient, the aim was to determine the therapeutic impact of using the Gastrointestinal Panel in our clinical practice. A single-center retrospective study was designed to evaluate children who were admitted to the hospital for gastroenteritis and had a gastrointestinal panel between August 2021 and January 2024.

Background: This study aimed to present our experience with transcatheter pulmonary debanding, focusing on patient outcomes.
Methods: The retrospective study was conducted with 32 patients (17 males, 15 females; mean age: 3.6±2 years; range, 0.
Objective: Postoperative junctional ectopic tachycardia (JET) is usually a self-limiting condition; however, when combined with atrioventricular dissociation and postoperative ventricular dysfunction, it may increase morbidity and mortality. This study aimed to determine the overall incidence of JET following congenital heart surgery, to identify patient and procedure-related risk factors, and to evaluate the clinical impact of JET on outcomes.
Methods: The records of 2,814 patients who underwent cardiac surgery over a five-year period were reviewed retrospectively to identify those with JET.
Managing locally advanced, or metastatic radioactive iodine-refractory differentiated thyroid cancers (RAIR-DTC) poses substantial challenges, with few available treatment options. The aim of this study was to evaluate clinical outcomes of patients receiving sorafenib as first line treatment. In addition, prognostic markers affecting progression-free survival (PFS) were identified.

Materials And Methods: Formulas were prepared using different ratios of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) (1% and 0.5%) and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) (1%) to improve the solubility of CycA.
Diagnostic approaches that combine the high sensitivity and specificity of laboratory-based digital detection with the ease of use and affordability of point-of-care (POC) technologies could revolutionize disease diagnostics. This is especially true in infectious disease diagnostics, where rapid and accurate pathogen detection is critical to curbing the spread of disease. We have pioneered an innovative label-free digital detection platform that utilizes Interferometric Reflectance Imaging Sensor (IRIS) technology.
