Response assessment of post-treatment head and neck cancers to determine further management using NI-RADS (Neck Imaging Reporting and Data System): a subgroup analysis of a randomized controlled trial.

Objective: Interpreting complex post-treatment changes in head and neck cancer (HNC) is challenging with further added perplexity due to variable interobserver interpretation and hence evolved the NI-RADS lexicon. We evaluated the accuracy of NI-RADS in predicting disease status on 1st post-treatment follow-up CECT in a homogenous cohort of those who received only chemoradiation.

Methods: Retrospective analysis of imaging was done for LASHNC patients who received radical chemoradiation in an open-label, investigator-initiated, phase 3 randomized trial (2012-2018) randomly assigned to either radical radiotherapy with concurrent weekly cisplatin (CRT) or CRT with the same schedule plus weekly nimotuzumab (NCRT).

Multicompartmental Trigeminal Schwannomas: Dumbbell Tumors Revisited.

Multicompartmental trigeminal schwannomas (MTSs) are a rare and complex but treatable group of tumors. Herein, we describe the clinicoradiologic presentation of two patients with MTS. The two illustrated distinct case reports highlight the role of imaging and the outcome of two different types of MTS.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Gynecological Malignancies: Role in Personalized Management.

Gynecological malignancies are a leading cause of mortality and morbidity in women and pose a significant health problem around the world. Currently used staging systems for management of gynecological malignancies have unresolved issues, the most important being recommendations on the use of imaging. Although not mandatory as per the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics recommendations, preoperative cross-sectional imaging is strongly recommended for adequate and optimal management of patients with gynecological malignancies.

Status of barium studies in the present era of oncology: Are they a history?

With the advent of the modern imaging technologies, the present era of oncology is seeing steady decline in requests for barium studies due to the many reasons. It is prudent to mention here, that, barium examinations cannot be made obsolete! Our aim to preserve the age old technique of barium studies not only to keep it going on but also for the betterment and appropriate management of the patient. Our goal is not to "save" barium studies simply to keep this technology alive, per se, but rather to preserve barium radiology for the quality in patient care.

Use of ultrasound imaging for the diagnosis of abnormal uterine bleeding in the bonnet macaque ( Macaca radiata).

Ultrasound is a powerful, low-cost, non-invasive medical tool used by laboratory animal veterinarians for diagnostic imaging. Sonohysterography and transvaginal ultrasound are frequently used to assess uterine anomalies in women presenting with abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB). In the present study, we have evaluated the abdominal ultrasound of bonnet monkeys ( n = 8) showing spontaneous ovulatory ( n = 5) and anovulatory ( n = 3) AUB.

Delayed complication of pelvic lymphocele: Ileal conduit obstruction.

Radical cystectomy is the standard treatment for muscle invasive bladder cancer. Lymphocele is a common sequalae of pelvic lymphadenectomy. We report an unusual presentation of pelvic lymphocele developing after radical cystectomy reconstructed with an ileal conduit where the patient developed obstruction of the ileal conduit loop due to external pressure of the lymphocele.
