Surgical tactics were analyzed in 1350 patients with cervical spine injuries treated during 1972-2009 years. In 80% of cases injuries were caused by car accidents. 855 patients were admitted in acute or early period of trauma.

Vertebral destruction was due to tumour metastases (18 patients), nonspecific spondylitis (12 patients) and fibrocystic displasia (2 patients). Myelopathy with local and radicular pain syndrome was registered in all cases before the operation.

Drugs were more potent inhibitors of neurotransmitter uptake in synaptosomes of stressed animals, as compared to synaptosomes from control ones, the activity increasing proportionally to the changes in a particular uptake system. It is suggested that the drugs inhibit the uptake of neurotransmitters studied by changing the properties of synaptosomal membrane lipid bilayer.

Having studied the functional state of beta-adrenoreceptors in vitro by the radioligand (3H-dihydroalprenalol) method it has been shown that cavinton in the concentration of 2.5 X 10(-6) M considerably increases the affinity of beta-adrenoreceptors for the ligand. In the in vivo experiments on rats the intraperitoneal injection of cavinton in the dose of 2 mg/kg causes an increase in the affinity of synaptosomal beta-adrenoreceptors for the ligand 10 days after chronic administration without altering the concentration of the receptors (Bmax) themselves.

In modelling of neuroses, successive stages of development of this pathology were observed in dogs. The first stage is characterized by circular disturbances of conditioned activity, vegetative shifts of compensatory character and intensification of individual characteristics of behaviour. At the second stage, parallel with sharp disturbances of conditioned reflexes and with vegetative dystonia, a distortion of emotional reactions was observed in dogs.

Twenty-four hours after the last exposure to stress crude synaptosomes isolated from the whole brain demonstrated an increase in the KD of 3H-dihydroalprenolol specific binding and a lowering of the Bmax of 3H-WB-4101 specific binding sites. Specific binding of 3H-flunitrazepam changes inconclusively: the decrease in the KD is followed by a reduction in the concentration of receptors.
