Article Synopsis
- This study aimed to explore the prevalence of interarm blood pressure differences (IAD) and its relationship with hypertension and peripheral atherosclerosis in a population of 67-year-old Danes.
- Results showed that women had a higher prevalence of IAD (26.8%) compared to men (21.0%) and this difference remained statistically significant even after adjustments.
- Misclassification rates were also examined, revealing that approximately 14.5% of women and 15.3% of men with elevated blood pressure readings in the higher arm could be incorrectly identified as non-hypertensive.
