Aim: To study the relationship between changes in left atrial volume (LAV) during exercise and the result of a diastolic stress test (DST) in patients with arterial hypertension (AH).
Material And Methods: The study included 219 patients with AH without ischemic heart disease and atrial fibrillation. During the DST performed before and after exercise, the ratio of transmitral flow velocity to mitral annular velocity (E/e'), the left atrial global longitudinal strain in the reservoir phase (reservoir strain), and LAV were determined.

Objective: To investigate a disease-modifying drugs (DMD) response in multiple sclerosis (MS) in the Tomsk region population and detect clinical factors associated with the treatment response.
Material And Methods: A 5-year prospective clinical study included 363 MS patients of the Tomsk region taking DMDs of the «first-line» and «second-line treatments». The response to DMDs therapy and the impact of MS clinical characteristics on response to treatment were assessed.
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is one of the basic culprits behind chronic liver disease, which may result in cirrhosis and hepatocarcinoma. In spite of the extensive research conducted, a vaccine against HCV has not been yet created. We have obtained human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) and used them for expressing the HCV NS5A protein as a model vaccination platform.

Objective: To study the effect of the RS6265 polymorphism of gene on the risk of development, main clinical characteristics and DMT response in MS patients in Tomsk region.
Material And Methods: The study group included 321 patients, the control group consisted of 266 healthy volunteers. Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) was isolated from venous blood using the standard phenol-chloroform method.
Introduction: A vaccine against hepatitis C has not yet been developed. Recombinant proteins and plasmids encoding hepatitis C virus (HCV) proteins, the components of candidate vaccines, induce a weak immune response and require the use of adjuvants. The aim of the work was to study the adjuvant action of an aqueous solution of fullerene C60 during immunization of mice with HCV recombinant protein NS5B (rNS5B) that is an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, or with NS5B-encoding pcNS5B plasmid.

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are porous materials with high surface areas, making them interesting for a large variety of applications including energy storage, gas separation, photocatalysis, and chemical sensing. Structural variation plays an important role in tuning COF properties. Next to the type of the building block core, bonding directionality, and linking chemistry, substitution of building blocks provides another level of synthetic control.

Neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis type 6 (NCL 6) is a rare progressive neurodegenerative disease that belongs to the group of lysosomal storage diseases. A clinical and genetic description of NCL 6 in a Yakut family was carried out. The proband and her sibling showed characteristic clinical signs, including myoclonic epilepsy, ataxia, psychomotor regression, dementia, and visual impairment.

Collagen hydrolysates were obtained after homogenization of hyaline cartilages under high pressure conditions at the temperatures that denaturate collagen. Thermodynamic parameters of thermal transition of collagen in cartilage suspension were determined.

To benefit from these advantages, some artifacts need to be minimized. Significant sources of such artifacts are chemical shift dispersion due to the high magnetic field, eddy currents caused by the pulsed magnetic field gradients, and possible mechanical instabilities in concentric cylinder (CC) rheo-cells.

For ED, phospholipase C (PLC), phospholipase A2 (PLA2) and a mixture of phospholipases Purifine 3G (3G) were used. Both WD and ED resulted in lamellar liquid-crystalline phases, however, of different topology.

Homogenization of the cartilage under conditions of high pressure and temperature facilitated subsequent enzymatic hydrolysis: the degree of hydrolysis increased upon elevation of pressure from 40 to 80 mPa and temperature from 60 to 70°C. Proteolysis with Chymopsin yielded collagen peptides with molecular weights from 900 to 7000 Da, while Caripazim processing yielded collagen peptides with lower molecular weights from 250 to 780 Da consisting of 2-8 amino acids, which could be easily absorbed and intensely incorporated in the formation of the joint tissue structures.

Sunflower (SF) and bean (BO) oils were used as dispersing media for MFC nanoplatelets. During MFC dispersion production at high shear, a significant increase in the average crystal thickness (ACT) could be observed, pointing to recrystallization of the MFC nanoplatelets.

Hydrothermal hydrolysis in a high pressure homogenizer followed by enzymatic hydrolysis of the cartilage tissue biopolymers with proteolytic enzyme preparation Karipazim yielded a complex of collagen peptides and glycosaminoglycan oligosaccharides with molecular weights of 240-720 Da. Low molecular weight of the components increases their bioavailability.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFDispersing micronized fat crystals (MFCs) in oil is a novel route to largely decouple fat crystallisation and network formation and thus to simplify the manufacture of fat-continuous food products. MFCs dispersed in oil form a weak-interaction network organized by crystal aggregates in a continuous net of crystalline nanoplatelets. The rough surface of MFC nanoplatelets hampers stacking into one-dimensional aggregates, which explains the high mass fractal dimensions of the networks formed in MFC dispersions.

The objective of the present work was to elaborate the content of comprehensive psycho-pedagogical examination for the assessment of the overall intelligence level in the children presenting with hearing impairments. The complex of studies to be carried out to achieve this purpose encompasses evaluation of the social, physical, and cognitive development of the children as well as peculiarities of their play activities, their speech and hearing abilities. This approach is believed to enable a teacher of deaf and hard of hearing to identify the individual characteristics of each child and determine those of special importance for the elaboration of educational programs on an individual basis taking into consideration variants of children's development (harmonic, uneven, retarded, etc.
