This study aims to investigate ECT-induced plasticity of anterior and posterior hippocampi using mathematical complexity measures in neuroimaging, namely Higuchi's fractal dimension (HFD) for fMRI time series and the fractal dimension of cortical morphology (FD-CM). Background: Sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) is highly prevalent in acute ischaemic stroke and is associated with worse functional outcome and increased risk of recurrence. Recent meta-analyses suggest the possibility of beneficial effects of nocturnal ventilatory treatments (continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) or adaptive servo-ventilation (ASV)) in stroke patients with SDB. We conducted a systematic review on resting state cerebral blood flow activities found in first-episode psychosis (FEP) and during acute effects of cannabinoids and opioids, mental states that can be profoundly different from normal functioning.
