Purpose: To assess the cost of pediatric cataract surgery in a tertiary eye care hospital from a provider's perspective.
Methods: Retrospective review of direct costs incurred for pediatric cataract surgery for the financial year April 1, 2018, to March 31, 2019. The cost analysis was done by standard costing methods.
Background: We compared vision and quality of life (VQL) of children aged 5-15 years and operated for unilateral and bilateral cataract between 2008 and 2010 in western India.
Materials And Methods: In this cohort study, ophthalmologists assessed vision, anterior and posterior segment of eyes with cataract. Children completed a functional vision questionnaire (LVP-FVQ).
Background: The study aimed to audit the results of horizontal strabismus surgery in the hospital's pediatric ophthalmology department in Maharashtra, India.
Method: Medical records of strabismus surgeries done over 3 years were collated. Preoperative visual acuity, deviation, refraction, and orthoptic evaluation were noted as well as post-operative residual deviation and patient satisfaction.
Background: Ocular problems are more common in children with hearing problems than in normal children. Neglected visual impairment could aggravate educational and social disability.
Aim: To detect and treat visual impairment, if any, in hearing-impaired children.
