Alzheimer's disease (AD), a prevalent neurodegenerative disorder, leads to progressive dementia, which impairs decision-making, problem-solving, and communication. While there is no cure, early detection can facilitate treatments to slow its progression. Deep learning (DL) significantly enhances AD detection by analyzing brain imaging data to identify early biomarkers, improving diagnostic accuracy and predicting disease progression more precisely than traditional methods.

Determinants of Metabolic Syndrome Among People With Substance Abuse: A Cross-Sectional Study From North India.

To estimate the prevalence and predictors of metabolic syndrome among substance users in North India. A total of 302 participants with a history of substance use (per code) visiting either medicine or psychiatry outpatient departments and referred to a deaddiction center in the psychiatry department of a tertiary care hospital were enrolled. The cross-sectional study was conducted over 6 months between September 2019 and February 2020.

Impact of a Brief Structured Psychoeducation Session on Antiepileptic Drug Adherence and Treatment Outcome in Persons with Epilepsy: A Prospective Cohort Study.

The Validity and Sensitivity of Rheumatoid Arthritis Pain Scale on a Different Ethnic Group From Indian Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients.

Objectives: This study aims to assess pain in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients by using Rheumatoid Arthritis Pain Scale (RAPS) and to find its correlation with Disease Activity Score 28 (DAS28) and Clinical Disease Activity Index (CDAI).

Patients And Methods: The study included 100 RA patients (23 males, 77 females; mean age 43.22 years; range, 19 to 72 years) who were subjected to RAPS questionnaire for pain assessment and DAS28 and CDAI for disease activity assessment.

Wellens' syndrome: a rare presentation after an endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography.

Wellens' syndrome is a pattern of ECG changes typically seen in patients with unstable angina that has a high positive predictive value for critical left anterior descending coronary artery stenosis. Recognition of this syndrome can allow for intervention before the patient develops myocardial infarction. We report a case of Wellens' syndrome that was observed after an endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, which highlights risk factors that needs consideration in evaluating patients with these ECG findings after undergoing procedures even when asymptomatic.

Vasculitis as a Presenting Manifestation of Chronic Hepatitis B Virus Infection: A Case Report.

Hepatitis B virus is responsible for causing hepatic complications like acute and chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma along with some uncommon immune mediated extrahepatic manifestations. Vasculitis remains an uncommon extrahepatic complication of hepatitis B virus infection. Herein we report a case of hepatitis B infection that presented with leucocytoclastic vasculitis as an initial manifestation and managed successfully with entacavir therapy.

The role of proprioceptive feedback in Parkinsonian resting tremor.

In this paper we use a closed-loop force feedback system to investigate the effect of altering proprioceptive feedback on EEG and resting tremor in Parkinson's Disease. A velocity dependent counterforce simulating viscous friction was provided by haptic robots with simultaneous recording of kinematics, EMG and EEG while a patient was on and off dopaminergic medication' We were able to reduce the amplitude of the tremor. We also showed that force feedback shifts the center of EEG-EMG coherence posteriorly toward the somatosensory regions, which may have ramifications for noninvasive therapies.
