Possible case of bortezomib-induced ileus paralytic.

This report describes a case of a patient with active multiple myeloma who was started on bortezomib, cyclophosphamide and dexamethasone and subsequently presented to the emergency department with acute intestinal obstruction one week later. The patient underwent exploratory laparotomy, but no mechanical cause of the obstruction was found. The patient later developed sepsis and eventually died.
