Brain-computer interface (BCI) provides direct communication and control between the human brain and physical devices. It is achieved by converting EEG signals into control commands. Such interfaces have significantly improved the lives of disabled individuals suffering from neurological disorders-such as stroke, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and spinal cord injury-by extending their movement range and thereby promoting self-independence.

Article Synopsis
  • Car-sharing systems depend on accurate demand prediction to optimize resources, but predicting vehicle demand is complex due to varying spatial and temporal factors.
  • The paper presents USTIN, a new neural network model for demand prediction that includes three main components: temporal features (historical demand), spatial features (geographic data around parking), and spatio-temporal features (weather data).
  • Experiments on real-world data showed that USTIN effectively captures complex relationships and outperforms existing models, while also identifying key factors influencing car usage using negative binomial regression.
