Factors in the implementation of expert standards in nursing: A qualitative study Many German health and long-term care facilities face the challenge of implementing expert standards in practice. Implementation models, such as the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR), support the implementation process by identifying the relevant influencing factors that can determine the success of an implementation. Aim: The aim was to identify the factors influencing the implementation of expert standards in nursing care and their interactions.

Methods: We evaluated peer navigation to support adherence among people initiating PrEP who use methamphetamine.
This study observed the effects of oxygen supplementation, via an oxygen concentrator, on peripheral arterial blood oxygenation (SpO2) measured by pulse oximetry in anaesthetised cats undergoing spay in three different surgical positions. A total of 192 female feral cats were investigated for a large-scale trap-neuter-release program. Cats were anaesthetised with an intramuscular combination of butorphanol (0,4 mg / kg), ketamine (7-10 mg / kg) and medetomidine (0,03-0,05 mg / kg).

The Positive Emotions Training (PoET) is one of the first holistic training programs covering eleven positive psychology constructs. The goal of this study was to test PoET's feasibility in the general population and to assess possible effects on positive and negative mental health factors.

Study Design: A randomized, blinded, experimental, crossover study.
Animals: A group of eight healthy Beagle dogs aged 4.
As one of the core elements of the European Human Biomonitoring Initiative (HBM4EU) a human biomonitoring (HBM) survey was conducted in 23 countries to generate EU-wide comparable HBM data. This survey has built on existing HBM capacity in Europe by aligning national or regional HBM studies, referred to as the HBM4EU Aligned Studies. The HBM4EU Aligned Studies included a total of 10,795 participants of three age groups: (i) 3,576 children aged 6-12 years, (ii) 3,117 teenagers aged 12-18 years and (iii) 4,102 young adults aged 20-39 years.

This analysis reports on incomplete seroconversion and seroreversion by specimen and test type among Project DETECT participants.
Methods: Project DETECT included a longitudinal study of point-of-care tests.
Introduction: Cushing's disease is a state of chronic and excessive cortisol levels caused by a pituitary adenoma.
Research Question: CD is a complex entity and often entails difficulties in its diagnosis and management. For that reason, there are still controversial points to that respect.
Case Summary: An 8-year-old female spayed British Shorthair cat that underwent surgical portosystemic shunt (PSS) attenuation developed progressive neurological signs 7 days postoperatively. Neurological signs progressed, despite medical management, and seizure activity became rapidly refractory to anticonvulsants. The diagnosis of post-attenuation neurological signs (PANS) was made based on the timing of the occurrence of clinical signs following surgery, absence of hyperammonaemia and suggestive MRI findings of the brain.

The exposure of operators, workers, residents and bystanders to pesticides is of high potential concern. Yet, reports on pesticide residues in the environment and near treated fields often spark debates if such findings might indicate a health risk. Although the underlying models are considered conservative, there are only limited field data on systemic exposure available.

Because these proteins are not present in identical ratios in the various grains and because they have some differences in sequence, the ability to accurately quantify the overall amount of gluten in various food matrices to support gluten-free labeling is difficult. Four sandwich ELISAs (the R-Biopharm AG R5 RIDASCREEN, the Neogen Veratox R5, the Romer Labs AgraQuant G12, and the Morinaga Wheat kits) were evaluated for their performance to quantify gluten concentrations in various foods and ingredients.

Methods: From June 2018-March 2019, we conducted a cross-sectional evaluation of the Simple Amplification-Based Assay version II (SAMBA II) POC NAT.
Introduction: Serum neurofilament light chain (NfL) levels are associated with disease severity in early Parkinson's disease (PD). We assessed the association of serum NfL with motor and cognitive function and decline in advanced PD patients.
Methods: NfL concentrations were analyzed with single molecule array (Simoa) assay in serum of 289 PD patients with advanced disease from the single-center prospective observational biobank study Biomarkers in Parkinson's disease (MARK-PD).
Background: Treatment with sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) agonists confers neuroprotective effects in animal models of Parkinson's disease (PD).
Objectives: We assessed the association of serum S1P levels with motor and cognitive symptoms in patients with PD.
Methods: S1P concentrations were analyzed with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) in serum of 196 PD patients and in 196 age- and sex-matched controls.
Seafood is a frequent cause of allergic reactions to food globally. The presence of undeclared trace amounts of clam can cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. Limited tools are available to test food products for the presence of traces of clam.

Methods: High-sensitivity troponin I and N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) were evaluated in 285 PD patients. Furthermore, N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide levels were analyzed in 570 age, sex and cardiovascular risk factor matched healthy controls.
Background: HIV testing guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are continually changing to reflect advancements in new testing technology. Evaluation of existing and new point-of-care (POC) HIV tests is crucial to inform testing guidelines and provide information to clinicians and other HIV test providers. Characterizing the performance of POC HIV tests using unprocessed specimens can provide estimates for the window period of detection, or the time from HIV acquisition to test positivity, which allows clinicians and other HIV providers to select the appropriate POC HIV tests for persons who may be recently infected with HIV.

However, collecting data on GSEs can be challenging, and many gaps exist in our knowledge about GSE participation among MSM.
Objective: The objective of this study was to develop survey questions addressing aggregate and partner-specific group sex behaviors to measure prevalence of GSEs and associated risks in persons participating in Project Diagnostic Evaluation To Expand Critical Testing Technologies (DETECT), including MSM seeking HIV and STD testing at a public clinic in Seattle, Washington.
This publication summarizes discussions that were held during an international expert hearing organized by the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) in Berlin, Germany, in October 2017. The expert hearing was dedicated to providing practical guidance for the measurement of circulating hormones in regulatory toxicology studies. Adequate measurements of circulating hormones have become more important given the regulatory requirement to assess the potential for endocrine disrupting properties for all substances covered by the plant protection products and biocidal products regulations in the European Union (EU).
