Background: Radiofrequency plus negative pressure therapy demonstrated a favorable reorganization and regeneration of the collagen and elastic fibers and was proposed for the treatment of cellulitis and skin stretch marks.
Methods: Twenty-six mature scars in 20 Caucasian patients (15 females and 5 males) were enrolled in the study.
Recent studies showed that mesenchymal stem cells derived from adipose tissue can promote tumour progression, raising some concerns regarding their use in regenerative medicine. In this context, we co-cultured either SAOS2 osteosarcoma or MCF7 breast cancer cells with human adipose stem cells (hASCs), in order to evaluate potential effects of cancer cells on hASCs differentiation, in vitro and in vivo. In this study we observed that both SAOS2 and MCF7 cell lines induced an increase in hASCs proliferation, compared to hASCs alone, but, surprisingly, neither changes in the expression of CD90, CD29, CD324 and vimentin, nor variations in the Twist and Slug mRNAs were detectable.

Introduction: Several gender differences have been reported in Parkinson's Disease (PD). We evaluated the burden of non-motor symptoms (NMS) in PD and the possible gender differences in their occurrence.
Methods: The FRAGAMP study is a large multicenter case-control study.
Purpose: To assess the epi- and intra-retinal morphology changes of the tangential tractions following vitreoretinal surgery for epiretinal membranes and to investigate the correlation between the depth of retinal changes and functional macular sensitivity (MS).
Methods: This is a prospective cross-sectional interventional study, in which 73 eyes of 73 patients with diagnosis of idiopathic epiretinal membrane (iERM) were evaluated. All patients received complete ophthalmic evaluation, including axial and en-face scanning spectral domain-optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) analysis and microperimetry.

Drugs inhibiting the EGFR have different mechanisms of action; while erlotinib and gefitinib inhibit the intracellular tyrosine kinase, monoclonal antibodies like cetuximab and panitumumab bind the extracellular domain of the EGFR both activating immunomediated anti-cancer effect and inhibiting receptor function. On the other hand, interleukin-8 has tumor promoting as well as neo-angiogenesis enhancing effects and several attempts have been made to inhibit its activity.

Methods: Twenty-four patients with PSP-P were enrolled in the current study. Patients were clinically followed up every 6 months until the appearance of VSGP or the end of the follow-up (4 years).
The goal of the study was to determine association between APOE Ɛ4 and gray matter changes in PD patients, with or without dementia. Twenty-five PD patients with the APOE Ɛ4 (13 with dementia), 24 without Ɛ4 (12 with dementia), and 26 controls were selected. We found no significant differences between PD patients and controls, or between PD patients with and without the APOE Ɛ4 allele, with regard to VBM analysis.

Methods: Twenty patients (31 eyes) with ischaemic diabetic maculopathy and 17 control subjects (27 eyes) were enrolled in this prospective study. Patients and control subjects underwent complete ophthalmic examination, including best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), intraocular pressure, FA, Fourier domain optical coherence tomography (FD-OCT) and OCT angiography.
Cystic echinococcosis (CE) is a globally distributed zoonosis caused by the Echinococcus granulosus sensu lato species complex. Four approaches are available for treatment of abdominal CE: surgery, percutaneous aspiration, chemotherapy with albendazole, and watch-and-wait. Non-dermatophytic moulds (NDMs) have been increasingly recognised as causative agents of onychomycosis. The diagnosis of onychomycosis is most often obtained by microscopic observation of nail specimens where fungal elements can be detected and cultured by standard mycological techniques. Direct microscopic examination does not always result positive in NDM onychomycosis; therefore to perform a correct diagnosis, a proper mycological culture is often required.
