Improvement in diagnostic-therapeutic care pathways for women with migraine: an Italian Delphi panel.

Background: Migraine is a highly underestimated and burdensome disease. Real-world studies evidence that migraine is more frequent and severe in women than men. However, to this day, no diagnostic-therapeutic pathways exist to satisfy the specific needs of female patients.

[Proposal to improve the patient journey for women's cardiovascular prevention].

The relevance of gender medicine in cardiovascular prevention is still underestimated, and there is a lack of viable women-specific preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic strategies. To ensure women have equal access to cardiovascular prevention, cardiovascular disease risk stratification needs to consider gender-specific factors related to women reproductive cycle phases together with the different impact that traditional risk factors have on men and women. The aim of this document is to improve the patient journey for cardiovascular risk prevention in women, enhancing the importance of a multidisciplinary approach and the role of the various professional figures involved, starting with the general practitioner, as the main actor of the first risk stratification.

Overcoming barriers to oral contraception in Italy an expert opinion to empower women.

Oral contraceptives are among the most commonly used contraceptive methods. However, Italian women underused reliable hormonal contraceptives as compared with other European women. There is a need to streamline access to oral contraception, with expected benefits on emotional well-being of women and potential savings for health system in Italy.
