Acetabular cartilage delamination (ACD) can result in focal chondral defects, increasing contact stresses and contributing to osteoarthritis. This is commonly associated with femoroacetabular impingement, particularly with cam deformities due to shearing of the cam on the acetabulum. Additionally, ACD associated with labral tears or chondrolabral separation, when untreated, can compromise labral repair outcomes.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to assess agreement between retrospectively and prospectively collected patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) following hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS).

Background: Spinopelvic parameters, including pelvic tilt (PT), sacral slope (SS), and pelvic incidence, have been developed to characterize the relationship between lumbar spine and hip motion, but a paucity of literature is available characterizing differences in spinopelvic parameters among patients with femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS) versus patients without FAIS, as well as the effect of these parameters on outcomes of arthroscopic treatment of FAIS.

Purpose: To (1) identify differences in spinopelvic parameters between patients with FAIS versus controls without FAIS; (2) identify associations between spinopelvic parameters and preoperative patient-reported outcomes (PROs); and (3) identify differences in PROs between patients with stiff spines (standing-sitting ΔSS ≤10°) versus those without.

Background: Hip pain due to femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) is thought to adversely impact sexual satisfaction because of exacerbation of symptoms with hip ROM. However, the effect of FAI on sexual satisfaction and improvement after surgery to treat FAI is largely absent from published studies, despite patients' apparent interest in it as registered by the frequent appearance of these topics on online anonymous discussion platforms. In addition, details regarding its impact on the decision to pursue surgery and the success of hip arthroscopy in alleviating FAI-related sexual dysfunction based on the specific role assumed during intercourse (penetrative versus receptive) remains unknown.

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are a highly prevalent and costly injury to treat, both financially and regarding its long-term detrimental effects on those injured. Adolescent female soccer players appear to be particularly vulnerable, possibly due to various biomechanical risk factors, such as knee valgus loading and imbalanced hamstrings-quadriceps (H/Q) ratio. Case: We report the first documented case of chylous leak recognized intraoperatively during posterior spinal instrumentation and fusion for juvenile scoliosis in a female patient with a history of thoracotomy and decortication for an empyema.

Conclusions: Thoracic duct injury can lead to severe morbidity and mortality because of chylothorax formation. Although chylous leaks are a well-documented complication of the anterior approach to spine surgery, leaks during the posterior approach are rarely reported.
