The PPP and its key enzymes such as G6PD possess important metabolic functions, including biosynthesis and maintenance of intracellular redox balance, while their implication in mitophagy is largely unknown.

Methods: We used 24-h steps data from the National Steps Challenge Season 3, wherein participants were rewarded with vouchers when achieving specified goals of 5000, 7500, and 10,000 steps per day.
Background: People with diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) are at risk of major amputation, which is associated with a high mortality rate (exceeding 50% at 5 years) and reduced quality of life. The authors hypothesized that flap reconstruction of DFUs improves patient outcomes in comparison with standard treatment modalities, including major amputation.
Methods: MEDLINE, Embase, the Cochrane Library, and gray literature were searched on February 9, 2022.

NCDs accounted for 80% of Singapore's disease burden (2015) and yet 40% of Singaporeans did not meet minimum recommended weekly PA despite evidence of the benefits to cardiorespiratory health, diabetes and cancer prevention.
Methods: A large-scale public health intervention was initiated in 2015 to increase population-level PA through incidental daily walking.

The literacy component of writing is less researched than that of reading, even though it holds equal significance for modern success. Spelling is an important aspect of the construct of literacy, and is more difficult to acquire than reading.

Design: Mixed methods participatory approach using a regional needs analysis, clinical file audit and stakeholder survey, to develop, implement and monitor quality improvement strategies.
Setting: Collaboration with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services and regional eye care stakeholders in the Katherine region.
Background: Wrist-worn activity trackers are popular, and an increasing number of these devices are equipped with heart rate (HR) measurement capabilities. However, the validity of HR data obtained from such trackers has not been thoroughly assessed outside the laboratory setting.
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the validity of HR measures of a high-cost consumer-based tracker (Polar A370) and a low-cost tracker (Tempo HR) in the laboratory and free-living settings.
We determine whether age is a prognostic factor for surgical outcomes of external dacryocystorhinostomy (Ex-DCR). This retrospective cohort study conducted at Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology (Kathmandu, Nepal) compared pediatric Ex-DCR procedures (age ≤ 15 years) to adult Ex-DCR procedures (age > 15 years) and was performed between January 2013 and December 2013, with a minimum follow-up period of 6 months. Primary outcome measure was rate of success, defined as complete resolution of subjective symptom(s) of epiphora (subjective success), combined with patent lacrimal passage on syringing (anatomical success) at last follow-up visit.
