Myocardial infarction can cause irreversible damage to the heart muscle, which can lead to heart failure. The difficulty of the treatment mainly arises from the anisotropic behavior of the myocardium fibrous structure. Objectives: The aim of this study was to systematically investigate the benefits of robotic-assisted lymphatic surgery based on currently published literature.
Methods: A systematic review evaluating the feasibility, surgical aspects, and both objective and subjective improvements in patients with impairment of the peripheral or central lymphatic system was performed according to the PRISMA guidelines.
Background: The cutoff of <1% positive cells to define estrogen receptor (ER) negativity by immunohistochemistry (IHC) in breast cancer (BC) is debated. We explored the tumor immune microenvironment and gene-expression profile of patients with early-stage HER2-negative ER-low (ER 1%-9%) BC, comparing them to ER-negative (ER <1%) and ER-intermediate (ER 10%-50%) tumors.
Methods: Among 921 patients with early-stage I-III, ER ≤50%, HER2-negative BCs, tumors were classified as ER-negative (n = 712), ER-low (n = 128), or ER-intermediate (n = 81).
Diagnosis of peripheral pulmonary lesions (PPL) is one of the most challenging fields in early lung cancer diagnosis. Despite novel techniques and new approaches to the periphery of the lung, almost 25% of PPL remains undiagnosed. Virtual bronchoscopy navigation (VBN) potentially allows to sample PPL previously not reachable with conventional bronchoscopy.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFAlthough CGRP neurons in the external lateral parabrachial nucleus (PBel neurons) are critical for cortical arousal in response to hypercapnia, activating them has little effect on respiration. However, deletion of all Vglut2 expressing neurons in the PBel region suppresses both the respiratory and arousal response to high CO2. We identified a second population of non-CGRP neurons adjacent to the PBel group in the central lateral, lateral crescent and Kölliker-Fuse parabrachial subnuclei that are also activated by CO2 and project to the motor and premotor neurons that innvervate respiratory sites in the medulla and spinal cord.
