Color discrimination in fixed saturation level of patients with acute traumatic injury.

Introduction: Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is an important public health concern and that may lead to severe neural sequels, such as color vision deficits.

Methods: We evaluated the color vision of 10 TBI patients with normal cognitive function using a color discrimination test in a fixed saturation level. We also analyzed computerized tomography scans to identify the local of the brain damages.

Vulnerabilities associated with violence against women before entering the prison system.

Objective: to analyze the individual and social vulnerabilities of women deprived of their liberty for violence suffered before entering the prison system.

Method: an analytical crosssectional study, carried out with 272 inmates of a female prison unit, in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza, Ceará. We applied two instruments: a form to analyze sociodemographic information and the violence suffered prior to entering the prison and the Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test (ASSIST), which analyzed the history of psychoactive substance use.

Acupuncture for perceived stress in pregnant women: an intervention study.

Objective: To analyze the effects of acupuncture in the treatment of perceived stress in pregnant women.

Method: A before-after intervention study, carried out in a primary health unit in Fortaleza-Ceará, with 56 pregnant women. The pregnant women underwent six acupuncture sessions, with two 30-minute sessions per week.
