Pathological Fracture on a Cyst-Like Mandibular Lesion Revealing a Primary Intraosseous Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Rare Clinical Case and Review of the Literature.

Primary intraosseous squamous cell carcinoma (PIOSCC) is a rare malignant tumor originating from remnants of odontogenic epithelium within the central jaw bone. The majority of the PIOSCC cases are diagnosed incidentally on histological findings while a potential malignancy wasn't necessarily determined at first on initial investigations. The diagnosis of PIOSCC is challenging and relies on ruling out other types of carcinomas, including metastatic tumors from other primary sites.

An innovative 3D hydroxyapatite patient-specific implant for maxillofacial bone reconstruction: A case series of 13 patients.

The study aimed to evaluate and discuss the use of an innovative PSI made of porous hydroxyapatite, with interconnected porosity promoting osteointegration, called MyBone Custom® implant (MBCI), for maxillofacial bone reconstruction. A multicentric cohort of 13 patients underwent maxillofacial bone reconstruction surgery using MBCIs for various applications, from genioplasty to orbital floor reconstruction, including zygomatic and mandibular bone reconstruction, both for segmental defects and bone augmentation. The mean follow-up period was 9 months (1-22 months).

Tracheostomy in COVID-19 acute respiratory distress syndrome patients and follow-up: A parisian bicentric retrospective cohort.

Background: Tracheostomy has been proposed as an option to help organize the healthcare system to face the unprecedented number of patients hospitalized for a COVID-19-related acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in intensive care units (ICU). It is, however, considered a particularly high-risk procedure for contamination. This paper aims to provide our experience in performing tracheostomies on COVID-19 critically ill patients during the pandemic and its long-term local complications.
