Aim: We hypothesized that adult patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) and ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) requiring prolonged resuscitation have more severe coronary artery disease (CAD) than those responding rapidly, and more severe CAD than patients with STEMI without OHCA.

Methods: Consecutive conscious and comatose OHCA patients with STEMI after reestablishment of spontaneous circulation (ROSC), and patients with refractory OHCA undergoing veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (E-CPR OHCA) were compared to STEMI without OHCA (STEMI no OHCA). CAD severity was assessed by a single physician blinded to the resuscitation method, time to ROSC and level of consciousness.

Like any other (health) data, RWD can be analysed in accordance with high-quality research methods, and its analysis can deliver valuable patient-centric insights complementing the information obtained from conventional clinical trials.

Aims: Because re-establishment of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) in patients with cardiac arrest is frequently not achieved by conventional cardiopulmonary resuscitation (C-CPR), selected patients may undergo resuscitation with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (E-CPR). We compared angiographic features and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) between patients undergoing E-CPR and those with ROSC after C-CPR.

This infrastructure, oriented to the citizen's well-being, can offer both services oriented to the person in his home environment, monitoring their behavior and psycho-physical state, and telemedicine services to support the remote monitoring of citizens affected by a cardiovascular event undergoing rehabilitation therapies from part of doctors or caregiver.

Lung ultrasonography (LUS) has become in the last 10 years a technique that has reduced the need of second level diagnostic methods such as chest X-ray (CXR) and computerize tomography (CT) for the diagnostic imaging of lung and pleural space, throughout its diagnostic accuracy, radiation free, low cost, real time and bedside approach. The common use of LUS has been recently extend to cardiac and pulmonary disease even in context of Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit and it could be an additional tool for physiotherapist for the management of patients during Rehabilitation course. The authors performed a literature review in PubMed and suggested a new standardize protocol for LUS, based on guidelines and expert consensus document, for patients admitted to Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit.

Prompt detection of cardiovascular abnormalities in children with anorexia nervosa and physical instability requiring hospitalization is essential to identify patients at higher cardiovascular risk. We studied all anorexia nervosa children requiring admission at Paediatric Institute in the period 2015-2019. Anorexia nervosa cardiopathy at admission was defined by the presence of at least two of the following clinical findings: pericardial effusion, mitral regurgitation, bradycardia, mitral billowing, aortic regurgitation, altered LV morphology and ECG abnormalities.
