The heterogeneity of disease presentation and treatment-related toxicities can be associated with suboptimal patient compliance to oncologic care. Hence, prioritizing quality of life and well-being are crucial aspects to be considered in tailoring the best treatment choice.

Deep Neck Abscesses in Children: An Italian Retrospective Study.

Background: Retropharyngeal and parapharyngeal abscesses (RPAs, PPAs) usually affect young children. Surgical drainage and/or antibiotic therapy are treatment of choice, but no specific guidelines exist. Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor of the Tongue. Report of a Pediatric Case and Review of the Literature.

Background: Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) is an uncommon mesenchymal lesion composed of myofibroblastic and fibroblastic spindle cells, accompanied by inflammatory infiltration. IMT may occur in the tongue. Five cases have been previously reported at this site.
