Background: Shoulders of elite field hockey players are loaded continuously during play. Frequent high shoulder loading is known to influence certain shoulder variables, such as acromiohumeral distance. However, the influence of elite field hockey play on acromiohumeral distance is not examined yet.

Shoulders of elite field hockey players are loaded continuously during play. However, shoulder girdle muscle performance in this population has never been examined yet. This study aimed to compare isokinetic shoulder girdle performance in elite male field hockey players to matched controls, with respect to strength, endurance and muscle balance.

Measuring the pectoralis minor muscle length (PML) is of clinical interest, as a short PML has been associated with a decrease of scapular posterior tilting and shoulder pain. However, as no reliability data are available at present, the objective of this study was to examine the inter- and intrarater reliability of the PML measurement in both subjects with and without shoulder impingement symptoms (SIS). Therefore, two assessors performed the PML measurement (3 times/shoulder) in 25 patients with SIS and 25 pain-free controls.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine correlations between first-time Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE) scores and pass/fail status, physician assistant (PA) program didactic grade point average (GPA), and specific selection criteria.

Methods: This retrospective study evaluated graduating classes from 2007, 2008, and 2009 at a single program (N = 119).

Results: There was no correlation between PANCE performance and undergraduate grade point average (GPA), science prerequisite GPA, or health care experience.

Unlabelled: This study aimed to evaluate the long-term results of arthroscopic thermal shrinkage of the anterior capsule in athletes with internal shoulder impingement. In recent years, opinion with regards to the aetiology of internal shoulder impingement has changed significantly. The traditional treatment of internal impingement consisted of debridement of labral and/or undersurface cuff lesions.

Humeral implant design in shoulder arthroplasty has evolved over the years. The third generation shoulder prostheses have an anatomic humeral stem that replicates the 3-dimensional parameters of the proximal humerus. The overall complication rate has decreased as a result of these changes in implant design.

Hypothesis: The purpose of this study is to report the functional outcome of the repair of a distal biceps tendon rupture by the use of the endobutton technique. We hypothesized that the endobutton provides excellent strength and clinical results after repair of distal biceps tendon rupture.

Materials And Methods: Twenty-six patients underwent repair of biceps tendon ruptures by use of an endobutton for fixation of the biceps tendon stump to the radial tuberosity.
