Introduction: Atezolizumab plus bevacizumab significantly improved overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) versus sorafenib in patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in IMbrave150. Efficacy and safety in patient subpopulations with Vp4 portal vein tumor thrombosis (PVTT) and other high-risk prognostic factors are reported.

Methods: IMbrave150 was a global, randomized (2:1), open-label, phase 3 study in systemic treatment-naive patients with unresectable HCC; OS and PFS were co-primary endpoints.

Background: In the management of chronic inflammatory skin disease (CISD), continuity of care may influence the achievement of long-term disease control. Barriers to care have been identified in this population, which may leave some patients more vulnerable to loss of follow-up.

Objective: We aim to identify predictors of continuity of care for CISD patients across demographic groups and healthcare practice types in the United States (US).

Background: Destruction of a benign skin lesion should not be billed to Medicare if the lesion is solely a cosmetic concern. Reducing unnecessary benign destructions could lower Medicare costs.

Objective: Evaluate benign destruction rates relative to premalignant destruction rates and identify factors associated with frequent benign destruction among dermatologists.

This comprehensive review addresses the global health challenge of disparities in pancreas transplant access, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) compared to high-income countries. Despite advancements in surgical techniques and immunosuppression for procedures like simultaneous pancreas-kidney, pancreas-after-kidney, and pancreas-transplant alone, LMICs face significant challenges, including limited infrastructure, financial constraints, and a shortage of skilled medical professionals. Donation after brain death remains constrained by sociocultural barriers.

Anhydrous plutonium tetrafluoride is an important intermediate in the production of metallic Pu. This historically important compound is also known to exist in at least two distinct, yet understudied hydrate forms, PuF·HO(s) (0.5 ≤ ≤ 2) and PuF·2.

: Aggregate prescribing behavior for inflammatory lesions of rosacea has been described, but individual physician behavior has not been characterized. This study aims to assess the modern state of topical rosacea drug selection by analyzing prescribing patterns among individual dermatologists. We assessed utilization patterns of four topical papulopustular rosacea agents in 2021 Medicare Part-D data.

Visual-spatial reasoning has been considered a predictor of performance success in STEM courses, including engineering, chemistry, biology, and mathematics. Little is known, however, about whether visual-spatial ability predicts success for non-STEM students in general education neuroscience courses. In the following study, we investigate how scores on tests of visual-spatial object rotation relate to student performance on illustrative and content exams in a large non-major undergraduate neuropharmacology course.

Purpose: Durable partial response (PR) and durable stable disease (SD) are often seen in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) receiving atezolizumab plus bevacizumab (atezo-bev). This study investigates the outcome of these patients and the histopathology of the residual tumors.

Patients And Methods: The IMbrave150 study's atezo-bev group was analyzed.

We report the synthesis, structure, and characterization of two novel neptunyl complexes (NpOL1 and NpOL2) constructed from phenylene-substituted benzyl ester bis(pyrrole)phenylenediamine (named "pyrrophen") ligands. In both cases, the neptunium center exists in the +6 oxidation state,. As our specific interest is in exploring the chemistry of neptunium compounds containing the linear neptunyl ion (NpO ) through equatorially coordinating the metal by multidentate organic ligands, we have identified the differences that are likely to cause discrepancy between the two complexes by examining the ions and their coordinative environments through single-crystal X-ray crystallography, diffuse reflectance, and Raman spectroscopy.

Patients with sarcomatoid renal cell carcinoma (sRCC) have a poor prognosis. In the randomised, double-blind phase 3 IMmotion010 trial (NCT03024996), adjuvant atezolizumab did not demonstrate a disease-free survival (DFS) benefit versus placebo in the overall population of patients with locoregional renal cell carcinoma with an increased risk of recurrence following surgery. This prespecified subgroup analysis of efficacy and safety was completed in 104 patients with sRCC.

In this study, we assessed a highly structured, yearlong, case-based course designed for undergraduate pre-health students. We incorporated both content learning assessments and developed a novel method called Multiple Mini Exams for assessing course impact on the development of skills that professional schools often seek in pre-health students, focusing on students' abilities to collaborate with others, display bedside manners, synthesize patient case details, appropriately use scientific and medical language, and effectively attain patients' medical histories. This novel method utilized a rubric based on desired medical student skills to score videotaped behaviors and interactions of students role playing as doctors in a hypothetical patient case study scenario.

Reactions of BiI/CuI mixtures with tetrahydrothiophene (THT) in toluene produce 2-D sheet networks BiCuI(THT) ( = 2, 3, or 4), depending on reaction conditions. All three structures are based on BiI octahedra, which share pairs of (μ-I) with Cu(THT) units. BiCuI(THT) features Cu(μ-I) rhombs with close Cu···Cu interactions and is accompanied by formation of the very complex HBiCuI(THT).

The premise of research in human physiology is to explore a multifaceted system whilst identifying one or a few outcomes of interest. Therefore, the control of potentially confounding variables requires careful thought regarding the extent of control and complexity of standardisation. One common factor to control prior to testing is diet, as food and fluid provision may deviate from participants' habitual diets, yet a self-report and replication method can be flawed by under-reporting.

Health disparities can be experienced by any disadvantaged group who has limited access to healthcare or decreased quality of care. Quality of care can be measured by physician-patient communication measures such as length of visit, health outcomes, patient satisfaction, or by the services one receives such as screening or health education. This study aims to determine the relationship between length of physician-patient encounter, number of preventive services, ethnicity, and race.

Introduction: Pathologic response (PathR) by histopathologic assessment of resected specimens may be an early clinical end point associated with long-term outcomes with neoadjuvant therapy. Digital pathology may improve the efficiency and precision of PathR assessment. LCMC3 (NCT02927301) evaluated neoadjuvant atezolizumab in patients with resectable NSCLC and reported a 20% major PathR rate.

The PATRICIA study (NCT02536339) examined the efficacy and safety of pertuzumab plus high-dose trastuzumab in patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer (MBC) with progressive central nervous system (CNS) metastases following radiotherapy. Primary analysis confirmed CNS objective response rate (ORR) was 11% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 3-25); clinical benefit rate (CBR) was 68% (4 months) and 51% (6 months). We report final efficacy data after a further 21-months of follow-up, updated safety, survival, and patient-reported outcomes (PROs).

Unlabelled: Standard-of-care first-line treatment for metastatic urothelial carcinoma (mUC) is platinum-based chemotherapy (CTx). Maintenance immunotherapy is a treatment option for patients without progressive disease (PD) after induction CTx. IMvigor130 was a randomised, phase 3 study evaluating atezolizumab plus platinum-based CTx (arm A), atezolizumab monotherapy (arm B), or placebo plus platinum-based CTx (arm C) as first-line treatment for mUC.
