Article Synopsis
- The study compared the plaque inhibition effectiveness of two toothpaste formulas: sodium fluoride/potassium nitrate (NaF/KNO3) and a stannous fluoride/sodium hexametaphosphate (SnF2/SHMP).
- Conducted with 25 participants using a double-blind crossover design, plaque levels were measured through digital analysis at different times after brushing with each toothpaste.
- Results showed that the SnF2/SHMP toothpaste significantly reduced plaque coverage compared to NaF/KNO3 at all measured times, indicating it is more effective for controlling plaque regrowth.
