This study examines the nexus between "stock returns," carbon emissions, and "environmental tax" in 28 OECD countries for the period 1994 to 2014. To this end, we employ second-generation econometric techniques that are robust to macroeconomic and financial datasets to eliminate the issues associated with heterogeneity and cross-sectional dependence. The "common correlated effects mean group (CCEMG)" and "augmented mean group (AMG)" estimators are a pioneering attempt to explore the association between the cross sections.

This study aims to investigate the influence of institutional capacity on the relationship between financial development and environmental quality and also examines the moderating role of corruption on the link between institutional quality and environmental quality. By using yearly data from 33 developing countries for 7 years from 2011 to 2017, this paper applies a dynamic technique system GMM. The results suggest that financial development increases environmental degradation due to possible higher energy-intensive investment.

The Pollution Haven Hypothesis is amongst the latest discussion in economics that investigates the contribution of Foreign Direct Investment in raising environmental degradation in the host countries. Whereas, the concept of the Environmental Kuznets Curve hypothesis had been in economics since 1991 and is extensively studied under the umbrella of environmental degradation. Our present study is focused upon the role of economic growth, Foreign Direct Investment and energy consumption in increasing concentration of Carbon Dioxide in the South Asian region by using panel data from 1986 to 2014.
