Introduction: Heart failure is a major public health problem because of the number and duration of hospitalizations. Patients with heart failure may have mixed etiologies that are not mutually exclusive, and etiologies vary between high-income and developing countries. The aim of our work was to study the contribution of coronary angiography in the etiological investigation of heart failure with impaired LVEF in the cardiology department of HPD.

Patients And Methods: We carried out retrospective data collection. All patients treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) with a confirmed diagnosis of cholera by PCR were studied.
Background: The emergence of -deleted parasites threatens histidine-rich protein 2 (HRP2)-based malaria rapid diagnostic test (RDT) performance. RDTs targeting () lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) may address current product limitations and improve case management.
Objectives: To evaluate the performance and usability of three LDH-based RDTs in febrile patients.
Graphene is a class of two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials composed of single or multiple layers of carbon atoms. To date, there are limited clinical data and no epidemiological research available to assess graphene toxicity in humans. Despite the growing amount of animal toxicity data, there are currently no occupational exposure limits (OELs) for any type of graphene nanomaterial published by international authoritative organizations to ensure their safe handling within workplaces.

This study assesses the contribution of non-falciparum species to malaria severity in three regions of Senegal with the highest malaria incidence. We analysed 617 blood samples obtained between 2015 and 2021 from confirmed malaria patients at health facilities in Kedougou, Kolda and Tambacounda in Senegal.

Because health organisations and systems play a central role in the success or failure of the transition to more equitable and sustainable societies, the concept of Responsible Innovation in Health (RIH), focused on aligning the processes and outcomes of innovation with societal values, is gaining interest in research, policy, and practice. This study aims to explore enablers and constraints to the development, procurement and/or utilisation of responsible DHTs in health organisations.

However, emerging insecticide resistance threatens these gains. This study assessed the susceptibility of populations to public health insecticides, examined the frequencies of , , and mutations, and explored their associations with phenotypic resistance in Dielmo and Ndiop, Senegal.

This study aimed to characterize the epidemiological, genetic and antigenic profiles of A/H3N2 viruses in Senegal from 2010 to 2022. A/H3N2 infection was confirmed using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction.

This study presents a set of methods to predict and visualize partial P mass balance, soil P saturation ratio (PSR), and soil test P for agricultural parcels across a watershed in the Lake Champlain Basin (Vermont, USA) using granular, field-level data. K-means cluster analyses were used to group agricultural parcels by soil texture, average slope, and crop type.

Case Description: A 27-year-old migrant patient attended the emergency department in a context of fever and chills over the previous few days as well as chronic fatigue, dyspnoea and chest pain. His medical history included chronic anaemia and erectile dysfunction.
Objectives: In low malaria transmission areas, the elimination of the disease has been hampered partly by the existence of a reservoir of subpatent Plasmodium falciparum infections within communities. This reservoir, often undetected, serves as a source of parasites and contributes to ongoing transmission and clinical malaria cases.
Methods: This study, spanning a period of 9 years from June 2014 to December 2022, examined individual variations and long-term subpatent P.
Objectives: The aim of the study was to determine the prevalence of AF in the cardiology department of the Hospital Principal of Dakar, then to evaluate the clinical, paraclinical, etiological and evolutionary profiles of AF and finally to identify the limits of its management in our context.
Patients And Methods: This was a retrospective, descriptive, analytical, mono-centric study carried out at Hospital Principal of Dakar from January 2019 to August 2021. Were included, all patients admitted for atrial fibrillation, or patients who presented an atrial fibrillation during hospitalization, confirmed by electrocardiogram or long-term electrocardiographic recording during the study period.
Radionuclides from the reactor accident Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant were observed in the airborne aerosols at CTBT International Monitoring System (IMS) stations (MRP43, CMP13) in Africa. The maximum activity concentrations in the air measured in Mauritania were 186.44 10 Bq.

This research investigates causes of NMAFI in pediatric out-patients in rural Guinea-Bissau.
Methods: Children 0-5 years presenting acute fever (≥38°) or history of fever, negative malaria rapid diagnostic test (mRDT) and no signs of specific disease were recruited at the out-patient clinic of 3 health facilities in Bafatá province during 54 consecutive weeks (dry and rainy season).
Peste des petits ruminants virus (PPRV) causes a highly infectious disease affecting mainly goats and sheep in large parts of Africa, Asia, and the Middle East and has an important impact on the global economy and food security. Full genome sequencing of PPRV strains has proved to be critical to increasing our understanding of PPR epidemiology and to inform the ongoing global efforts for its eradication. However, the number of full PPRV genomes published is still limited and with a heavy bias towards recent samples and genetic Lineage IV (LIV), which is only one of the four existing PPRV lineages.

However, the genetic characteristics and diffusion patterns of the H9N2 virus remain poorly understood in Western Africa, mainly due to limited surveillance activities. In addition, Mali, a country considered to play an important role in the epidemiology of AIVs in the region, lacks more comprehensive data on the genetic characteristics of these viruses, especially the H9N2 subtype.

As most patients do not consult any health facility much uncertainty persists about the true burden of the disease and the range of individual differences in susceptibility to malaria.
Methods: Over a 25-years period, from 1990 to 2015, the inhabitants of Dielmo village, Senegal, an area of intense malaria transmission, have been monitored daily for their presence in the village and the occurrence of diseases.
Background: Scale-up and sustainability are often studied separately, with few studies examining the interdependencies between these two processes and the implementation contexts of innovations towards malaria prevention and control. Researchers and implementers offer much more attention to the content of innovations, as they focus on the technological dimensions and the conditions for expansion. Researchers have often considered innovation a linear sequence in which scaling up and sustainability represented the last stages.

In the case of human malaria, transmission increases when mosquitoes feed more on humans than on other animals. Therefore, understanding the spatio-temporal dynamics of vectors and their feeding preferences is essential for improving vector control measures.

To guide such efforts, measuring and monitoring parasite population evolution and anti-malarial drugs resistance is extremely important. Information on the prevalence of parasite mutations related to drug resistance can provide a first signal of emergence, introduction and selection that can help with refining drug interventions.

Nasal swab and blood samples were collected on a weekly basis from the same animal immediately after slaughter. Influenza A viruses were diagnosed using RT-qPCR and a subset of positive samples for H3 and H1 subtypes were selected for full genome amplification and NGS sequencing.

Researchers, policymakers, and practitioners lack conceptual clarity and integrated frameworks for the scale-up and sustainability of global health innovations. Often, the frameworks developed are conceived in a linear and deterministic or consequentialist vision of the diffusion of innovations.
