Article Synopsis
  • The study explores how thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) levels may influence the risk of developing metabolic syndrome among individuals over 40 years old in Guiyang, China.
  • A total of 10,140 participants were assessed, and after analyzing the data, those with high TSH levels (above 4.78 mIU/L) had a higher prevalence of metabolic syndrome compared to those with normal TSH levels.
  • The findings suggest that elevated TSH levels are linked to an increased risk of metabolic syndrome, indicating the need for regular screening in individuals with high TSH.
