Background: We aimed to describe nurses' perspectives on risk factors and strategies to control workplace violence.

Methods: To accomplish the study objectives, an online cross-sectional questionnaire-based investigation was conducted. The scales were developed in accordance with the guidelines provided by reputable organizations such as the International Labour Office (ILO), International Council of Nurses (ICN), WHO, and Public Services International (PSI), as well as previous scholarly works.

Patients' Fear, Stress, and Anxiety Toward Attending Dental Visits During the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic interrupted dental care for individuals due to dental practice closures beginning in March 2020. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between fear or stress related to COVID-19, dental anxiety and attending dental visits among adults in the United States (US).: A cross-sectional survey research design was used with a non-probability sample of adults residing in the US.

Case report: PICC line for a toddler with bilateral bidirectional Glenn shunt, Fontan circulation, and persistent left superior vena cava.

Performing peripherally inserted central catheters for children with bilateral bidirectional Glenn shunt, Fontan circulation, and persistent left superior vena cava differs from those with normal central venous anatomy. This study presents two PICC procedures for a toddler with this condition to demonstrate an accurate PICC approach for such children.

Medical students have been serving as a key part of the frontline health workforce responding to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic globally. Their contribution is especially important in the resource-scarce settings of developing nations such as Vietnam. Yet, the intention of medical students, in particular, nursing students, to participate in COVID-19 frontline prevention activities has not been well-understood.

An External Validation Study of the Oakland and Glasgow-Blatchford Scores for Predicting Adverse Outcomes of Acute Lower Gastrointestinal Bleeding in an Asian Population.

Aims: This study is aimed at (1) validating the performance of Oakland and Glasgow-Blatchford (GBS) scores and (2) comparing these scores with the SALGIB score in predicting adverse outcomes of acute lower gastrointestinal bleeding (ALGIB) in a Vietnamese population.

Methods: A multicenter cohort study was conducted on ALGIB patients admitted to seven hospitals across Vietnam. The adverse outcomes of ALGIB consisted of blood transfusion; endoscopic, radiologic, or surgical interventions; severe bleeding; and in-hospital death.

Health literacy profiles of adults with multiple chronic diseases: A cross-sectional study using the Health Literacy Questionnaire.

Health literacy is multidimensional, comprising functional, communicative, and critical thinking dimensions. Understanding health literacy is crucial for clinicians to develop effective health education strategies. In this study, we examined the multiple dimensions of health literacy in Vietnamese adults with chronic comorbidities.

Development and Validation of a Scoring System to Predict Severe Acute Lower Gastrointestinal Bleeding in Vietnamese.

Background/aims: The prevalence of acute lower gastrointestinal bleeding (ALGIB) has progressively increased worldwide but there are few studies in Asian populations. This study aimed to develop and validate a scoring system to predict severe ALGIB in Vietnamese.

Methods: Risk factors for severe ALGIB were identified by multiple logistic regression analysis using data from a retrospective cohort of 357 patients admitted to a tertiary hospital.

Psychometric evaluation of the culturally and linguistically translated Vietnamese chronic kidney disease self-management instrument.

Aims: To translate and psychometrically test the modified chronic kidney disease self-management instrument in Vietnamese language.

Background: Research on chronic kidney disease self-management is increasing although few patient-reported outcome measures are available in other languages.

Design: This study involved instrument modification, translation, and cultural adaptation into Vietnamese followed by psychometric evaluation in a target population.

Effectiveness of self-management programme in people with chronic kidney disease: A pragmatic randomized controlled trial.

Aims: To examine the effectiveness of a self-management intervention compared with usual care in adults with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on self-management, knowledge, self-efficacy, health-related quality of life, and blood pressure.

Design: A parallel group randomized controlled trial.

Methods: Patients aged ≥ 18 years with CKD stages 3-5 were recruited between November 2015 and June 2016.

p38MAPK builds a hyaluronan cancer niche to drive lung tumorigenesis.

Expansion of neoplastic lesions generates the initial signal that instigates the creation of a tumor niche. Nontransformed cell types within the microenvironment continuously coevolve with tumor cells to promote tumorigenesis. Here, we identify p38MAPK as a key component of human lung cancer, and specifically stromal interactomes, which provides an early, protumorigenic signal in the tissue microenvironment.

Investigation of obesity candidate genes on porcine fat deposition quantitative trait loci regions.

Objectives: To investigate possible obesity candidate genes in regions of porcine quantitative trait loci (QTL) for fat deposition and obesity-related phenotypes.

Research Methods And Procedures: Chromosome mapping and QTL analyses of obesity candidate genes were performed using DNA panels from a reference pig family. Statistical association analyses of these genes were performed for fat deposition phenotypes in several other commercial pig populations.
