Background: Wire-guided localization (WGL) for non-palpable breast cancer lesions has drawbacks like wire migration, localization difficulties, and logistical challenges. Wireless methods, such as reflector-guided localization (RGL), address these issues and are compatible with breast MRI. This study evaluates the organizational and cost impacts of RGL compared to WGL.

Laparoscopic and thoracoscopic whole-stomach esophagectomy with preoperative pyloric balloon dilatation for esophageal cancer: a prospective multicenter case-series outcome.

Introduction: To mitigate gastroparesis as well as other post-operative complications, we undertook a prospective multicenter study to assess the feasibility, safety, and efficacy in the short-term outcomes of laparoscopic and thoracoscopic whole stomach esophagectomy with preoperative pyloric balloon dilatation.

Methods: A prospective descriptive study on 37 patients with laparoscopic and thoracoscopic whole stomach esophagectomy with preoperative pyloric balloon dilatation from January 2019 to March 2023. The perioperative indications, clinical data, intra-operative index, pathological postoperative specimens, postoperative complications, and follow-up results were retrospectively evaluated.

This study aims to investigate climate change's impact on health and adaptation in Vietnam through a systematic review and additional analyses of heat exposure, heat vulnerability, awareness and engagement, and projected health costs. Out of 127 reviewed studies, findings indicated the wider spread of infectious diseases, and increased mortality and hospitalisation risks associated with extreme heat, droughts, and floods. However, there are few studies addressing health cost, awareness, engagement, adaptation, and policy.

Dual anticancer and antibacterial activity of fluorescent naphthoimidazolium salts.

Cancer has emerged as a significant global health challenge, ranking as the second leading cause of death worldwide. Moreover, cancer patients frequently experience compromised immune systems, rendering them susceptible to bacterial infections. Combining anticancer and antibacterial properties in a single drug could lead to improved overall treatment outcomes and patient well-being.

Clinical use of Indocyanine green fluorescence method for sentinel lymph node biopsy in breast cancer in France in 2021.

Introduction: Indocyanine green (ICG) for axillary sentinel lymph node (SLN) detection in early breast cancer is at least equivalent to radioisotopic and/or colorimetric techniques. This procedure has not yet been recommended by learned societies in France. Following the recent drug approval of Infracyanin ® in this indication, we wished to study the use of ICG in France.

Seasonal and Temporal Trends of Infectious Keratitis in Northern Vietnam.

The epidemiology of corneal ulcers in Vietnam has not been well characterized. In this report, we reviewed retrospectively the microbiological data of patients with a clinical diagnosis of corneal ulcer at the microbiology laboratory of Vietnam National Eye Hospital from January 1, 2010 to March 31, 2023. We observed a seasonal pattern for fungal and microsporidial keratitis, with an annual peak in November, and an inverse relationship between fungal keratitis and inclement weather.

Patterns of recurrence in surgically treated women for TP53-mutated endometrial carcinomas.

Objective: To describe the patterns of recurrence and the prognosis of patients with a recurrent TP53 mutated endometrial carcinoma treated initially by surgery.

Methods: All patients with endometrial carcinoma, treated at hospital European Georges Pompidou between 2001 and 2021 were retrospectively included. Patients were separated into two groups: TP53-mutated and not TP53-mutated (POLE/ultramutated-like (POLEmut), dMMR (mismatch repair-deficient) and NSMP (No specific molecular profile)).

Flexural properties of porcupine quill-inspired sandwich panels.

This paper presents the bending behaviour of the porcupine quill and bioinspired Voronoi sandwich panels, aiming to explore the effect of geometrical design on the bending performance of the inspired structures. Through the x-ray micro-computed tomography, the internal morphology of the quill is explored. The longitudinal cross-section of the porcupine quill revealed a functionally graded design in the foam structure.

First study on capsular serotypes and virulence factors of isolates from Phan Rang sheep in Vietnam.

Background And Aim: is considered as a main factor mediating pneumonic pasteurellosis in ruminants, including sheep. It is also a current threat to Phan Rang sheep in Vietnam. This study aimed to characterize isolated from Phan Rang sheep, their antibiotic resistance profile, and the prevalence of some virulence-associated genes of these strains.

Narcolepsy with cataplexy or narcolepsy type 1 is a disabling chronic sleep disorder resulting from the destruction of orexinergic neurons in the hypothalamus. Visible photodetector based on transition metal-doped ZnO NRs/PEDOT:PSS hybrid materials.

A hybrid Cu-doped ZnO nanorods (ZnO:Cu NRs)/poly(3,4 ethylene dioxythiophene)-polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS)-based photodetector was fabricated using a simple hydrothermal method with pre-patterned silver electrodes. In the hybrid structure, PEDOT:PSS with high mobility acts as a carrier transport layer, while ZnO:Cu NRs with high visible absorption works as an "antenna" material to generate electron-hole pairs under light illumination. As a result, the devices exhibits a high response in visible light at a wavelength of 395 nm.

Subtotal Laryngectomy with Epiglottic Reconstruction for Glottic Carcinoma: A Single Institutional Experience.

Aim: Laryngeal cancer is a common form of head and neck cancer in Vietnam where the current treatment is surgery. Subtotal laryngectomy with epiglottic reconstruction, a conservative surgery, allows removal of anterior commissure including thyroid cartilage and paraglottic space and provides a maximum restoration of the anatomical structure of the larynx.

Purpose: To evaluate the results, the safety and effectiveness of patients who were treated with subtotal laryngectomy with epiglottic reconstruction.
