Objective: Thoracoscopic sympathicotomy is a well-established treatment for severe palmar hyperhidrosis. This study evaluates the safety and efficacy of a novel one-stage, bilateral, single-port laser sympathicotomy with minimal dissection.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 73 patients with severe palmar hyperhidrosis who underwent this novel surgical technique between June 2023 and October 2023.
Background: Nurses frequently suffer from workplace violence, but the public is often not fully aware of the situation because many events are not widely reported.
Methods: This study is an attempt to describe public perceptions of and reactions to reports of incidents of violence against nurses in online newspapers. Articles about such violence in Vietnamese online newspapers published from January to December 2019 as well as readers' comments on those articles were collected for thematic analysis.

- * Most patients were under 5 years old, and prevalent infections included lower respiratory tract infections (32.8%) and gastrointestinal infections (13.3%).
- * After treatment, 87.8% of patients were discharged in good condition, but 12% worsened and were transferred, while 0.1% died; the findings suggest a need for better diagnostic tools and targeted testing for infections.
