This work investigates novel improvements in FeNi-layered double hydroxide (LDH)/MIL-88A heterocomposite for sustainable seawater electrolysis through a single-step dual functionalization process. The Fe/Ni precursor weight ratio is optimized, resulting in the formation of smaller LDH petals and nano-sized MIL-88A metal-organic framework, which transforms into clusters of FeO nanospheres within a nitrogen-functionalized carbon matrix over NiFeO nano petals upon calcination. Furthermore, oxygen vacancies, and nitrogen functionalization are attained in a single step by employing thermal ammonia reduction, significantly improving the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) activities.

This study focuses on filial piety, a fundamental psychological factor in Vietnam and its relationship with religiosity and attitudes toward abortion. Drawing on data from 656 participants, the research employed the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method and identified significant differences in intrinsic religiosity (IR) based on various forms of cohabitation with parents. Furthermore, the findings revealed a positive association between age and religiosity.

We measure the fundamental rate constants of internally discovered KRAS G12C inhibitors to demonstrate how kinetic analyses can be integrated with standard biochemical and cell-based assays for more optimal biophysical compound prioritization. In this proof-of-principle study, we characterize three irreversible covalent inhibitors targeting the mutant cysteine at the switch II binding pocket. We estimate the three fundamental kinetic rate constants ( , , ) that define the contributions of affinity and inactivation to the overall alkylation rate for a more complete biophysical characterization.

Mandatory vaccination for COVID-19 has received intense political and ethical debates, while the literature on the causal effects of vaccination mandates on vaccination outcomes is very limited. In this study, we examine the effects of the announcement of vaccine mandates (VMs) for workers working in three sectors, including health, education, and state governments, on the uptake of first-dose and second-dose vaccination across 50 states in the United States of America. We show that VM announcements have heterogeneous effects; hence, standard two-way fixed effects and difference-in-differences estimators are biased.

This study investigates various common medical conditions affecting Australian children aged 4-14 years and the impact of prenatal and early-life conditions on these health conditions using a large national data set (n = 4122) with 15 years of follow-up. Consistent with the developmental origins of health and diseases hypothesis and the life-course models of health, the environment and parental financial hardship during pregnancy and shortly after birth play a significant role and have a lasting impact on the medical conditions of children. These significant effects are not reduced by controlling for child, family, and neighbourhood characteristics.
