The Relationship Between Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum Clusters in Metaphase II Oocytes and Embryological and Birth Outcomes in Infertile Couples.

Background: To assess the relationship between oocytes with smooth endoplasmic reticulum cluster (SERc) and embryological and birth outcomes in infertile couples.

Methods: This was a descriptive study that included 231 infertile patients undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) with a total of 2447 mature oocytes (MII), of which 279 oocytes with SERc(+) from 100 patients, the remaining 2168 oocytes with SERc(-). Oocytes were evaluated for the presence or absence of the SERc simultaneously with intracytoplasmic sperm injection at 200x magnification using inverted microscopy - Observe D1.

Impact of Bystander Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation on Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest Outcome in Vietnam.

Introduction: Patients experiencing an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) frequently do not receive bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC). In this study we sought to determine the prevalence of OHCA patients in Vietnam who received bystander CPR and its effects on survival outcomes.

Methods: We performed a multicenter, retrospective observational study of patients (≥18 years) presenting with OHCA at three major hospitals in an LMIC from February 2014-December 2018.

Effective Management of Severe Amlodipine/Atenolol Overdose with Intravenous Calcium, Hyperinsulinemic Euglycemia Therapy, and Continuous Veno-Venous Hemodialysis: A Case Report.

BACKGROUND Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, and atenolol, a beta blocker, are commonly used as a fixed drug combination (FDC) to treat hypertension. Intentional or non-intentional overdose of amlodipine-atenolol results in hypotension and myocardial depression with a high risk of mortality. This report describes a 64-year-old man with an overdose of amlodipine-atenolol, presenting as an emergency with hypotension, bradycardia, and severe metabolic acidosis.

Extracellular Vesicle Refractive Index Derivation Utilizing Orthogonal Characterization.

The analysis of small particles, including extracellular vesicles and viruses, is contingent on their ability to scatter sufficient light to be detected. These detection methods include flow cytometry, nanoparticle tracking analysis, and single particle reflective image sensing. Bacillus anthracis, the bacterial cause of anthrax, is a zoonosis affecting livestock and wildlife often spilling over into humans. In Vietnam, anthrax has been nationally reportable since 2015 with cases occurring annually, mostly in the northern provinces. In April 2022, an outbreak was reported in Son La province following the butchering of a water buffalo, Bubalus bubalis.

Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and polychlorinated dibenzofurans in blood samples from historically herbicide-sprayed areas and rural and industrialized unsprayed areas in Vietnam.

We investigated dioxin concentrations in the blood of residents living in areas with different sources of dioxin pollution in Vietnam. A total of 823 individual blood samples were collected in 2014-2015 from residents of 16 provinces in Vietnam who were born between 1972 and 1976, and who lived in rural unsprayed areas (the control area), industrialized unsprayed areas (the industrialized area), and areas in which herbicides were sprayed during the Vietnam War (the sprayed area). After blood collection, pooled samples were obtained by combining 10-25 individual samples by age and sex for each area.

Characteristics of human leptospirosis in three different geographical and climatic zones of Vietnam: a hospital-based study.

Background: To our knowledge, this study is the first report on the seroprevalence of human leptospirosis and its epidemiological profile in 3 different geographical and climatic zones of Vietnam.

A cross-sectional study was conducted on 8,291 outpatients aged 18-85 years, in 18 hospitals and health centers across Vietnam from 14th February to May 31, 2020. In this study, we developed Different Artificial Intelligence (AI) models namely Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Adaptive Network based Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) for the prediction of Compression Coefficient of soil (Cc) which is one of the most important geotechnical parameters. A Monte Carlo approach was used for the sensitivity analysis of the AI models and input parameters. For the construction and validation of the models, 189 soft clayey soil samples were analyzed.
