Accurate quantification of methane emissions from the natural gas system is important for establishing greenhouse gas inventories and understanding cause and effect for reducing emissions. Current carbon intensity methods generally assume methane emissions are proportional to gas throughput so that increases in gas consumption yield linear increases in emitted methane. However, emissions sources are diverse and many are not proportional to throughput.

We report the synthesis and application of a small molecule probe for carbonic anhydrase (CA) to track holo-CA in cell lysates and live-cell models of zinc dyshomeostasis. The probe displays a 12-fold increase in fluorescence upon binding to bovine CA and also responds to human CA isoforms.

Solid metal oxides for carbon capture exhibit reduced adsorption capacity following high-temperature exposure, due to surface area reduction by sintering. Furthermore, only low-coordinate corner/edge sites on the thermodynamically stable (100) facet display favorable binding toward CO, providing inherently low capacity. Tocilizumab for the treatment of birdshot uveitis that failed interferon alpha and anti-tumor necrosis factor-alpha therapy: two cases report and literature review.

Biotherapies appear as potential drugs for the treatment of inflammatory noninfectious uveitis. In this report, we show that tocilizumab, an anti-IL-6 agent, greatly improved two patients with birdshot chorioretinopathy refractory to conventional immunosuppressive drugs, interferon α2a, and anti-TNFα agents. After a follow-up of 22 months, patients exhibited an improvement of both visual acuity and macular edema.

Evaluation of a Pharmacist-Managed Diabetes Program in a Primary Care Setting Within an Integrated Health Care System.

Background: Pharmacists have important roles in managing the therapy of patients with type 2 diabetes and improving patient care. Genetic Pathways of Neuroregeneration in a Novel Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Model in Adult Zebrafish.

Mild traumatic brain injuries (mTBIs) are one of the most prevalent neurological disorders, and humans are severely limited in their ability to repair and regenerate central nervous system (CNS) tissue postinjury. However, zebrafish () maintain the remarkable ability to undergo complete and functional neuroregeneration as an adult. We wish to extend knowledge of the known mechanisms of neuroregeneration by analyzing the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in a novel adult zebrafish model of mTBI.

Variation in the Diagnosis of Aspiration Pneumonia and Association with Hospital Pneumonia Outcomes.

Rationale: National efforts to compare hospital outcomes for patients with pneumonia may be biased by hospital differences in diagnosis and coding of aspiration pneumonia, a condition that has traditionally been excluded from pneumonia outcome measures.

Objectives: To evaluate the rationale and impact of including patients with aspiration pneumonia in hospital mortality and readmission measures.

Methods: Using Medicare fee-for-service claims for patients 65 years and older from July 2012 to June 2015, we characterized the proportion of hospitals' patients with pneumonia diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia, calculated hospital-specific risk-standardized rates of 30-day mortality and readmission for patients with pneumonia, analyzed the association between aspiration pneumonia coding frequency and these rates, and recalculated these rates including patients with aspiration pneumonia.
