Background: Intravenous (IV) ketamine is used for chronic neuropathic pain refractory to other treatments. Administration of such a medication requires high-cost services while the result is not always satisfactory with a significant percentage of failure. Success and failure are related to some factors.

Unexpected amaurosis occurring after peribulbar anesthesia: Exploring the causes in two cases.

Peribulbar anesthesia (PB) is known to be safer than retrobulbar (RB) anesthesia. To our knowledge, no amaurosis has been described after PB. We report here the cases of two patients who underwent PB before membrane peeling.
