Our objective was to describe the development, deployment, lessons learned, and ongoing evolution of the Wake County EMS buprenorphine program using data from the first year following implementation.

We test for wide-sense stationarity, compute ensemble histograms, and estimate the autocovariance functions with associated error bars. We find that the statistics are stationary but non-Gaussian.

Stochastic background models incorporating spatial correlations can be used to enhance the detection of targets in natural terrain imagery, but are generally difficult to apply when the statistics are non-Gaussian. Chapple and Bertilone (see Opt. Commun.
