Objective: The objectives of this study were to identify factors impacting nutrition needs in infants and children with bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). A modified Delphi approach to obtain consensus among pediatric registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) was used to create a BPD-specific nutrition focused physical examination (NFPE) tool.
Study Design: RDNs, recruited through pediatric nutrition professional associations, completed a survey rating proposed NFPE components on a Likert scale of 1-5 allowing open-ended responses in a two-round Delphi.
High-dose vitamin B is a potential treatment for patients with vasodilatory shock that is refractory to other therapies. Vasodilatory shock is characterized by low blood pressure and low systemic vascular resistance. Nitric oxide and hydrogen sulfide, two potential targets of high-dose vitamin B given as hydroxocobalamin, facilitate this syndrome.

Methods: Prospective trials published between 2009 and 2020 were systematically reviewed, and meta-analysis was conducted by using a random-effects model.
Results: Five studies were identified for up to 591 participants across 39 centers.
Objectives: This study aimed to expand knowledge about soluble low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 1 (sLRP1) in juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) by determining associations of sLRP1 levels in nonsystemic JIA patients with clinical and inflammatory biomarker indicators of disease activity.
Methods: Plasma sLRP1 and 44 inflammation-related biomarkers were measured at enrollment and 6 months later in a cohort of 96 newly diagnosed Canadian patients with nonsystemic JIA. Relationships between sLRP1 levels and indicators of disease activity and biomarker levels were analyzed at both visits.

Background: Early introduction of enteral nutrition (EN) in postoperative infants improves intestinal adaptation, reducing the risk of intestinal failure-associated liver disease (IFALD). Our objective was to determine whether guideline use reduces feeding variability and improves outcomes in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
Methods: In a cohort study, surgical infants at risk for IFALD were evaluated pre and post implementation of feeding guidelines at 2 NICUs.
Background: We evaluated tolerance of hydrolyzed liquid protein (LP) supplement added to fortified human milk (HM) to optimize protein intake in preterm infants.
Methods: A prospective observational study of 31 subjects compared with 31 historic controls, receiving mothers own milk (MOM) and/or donor milk (DM) to assess LP tolerance, growth, and risk for morbidities was conducted. Milk was analyzed for nutrient content.
Tracheoesophageal fistulas (TEF) are pathologic communications between the esophagus and the trachea or bronchi. The development of a TEF can result from malignant or benign etiologies. A common approach for the treatment of TEFs is the placement of endobronchial and esophageal stents to facilitate healing of the communication.

Patients And Methods: Women with ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal carcinoma were randomized 1 : 1 to receive PLD in combination with blinded motolimod or placebo. Randomization was stratified by platinum-free interval (≤6 versus >6-12 months) and Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) performance status (0 versus 1).
Objective: Limited literature exists on the sonographic appearance of the posterior tibialis tendon (PTT) and the peroneus brevis tendon (PBT) entheses. We determined the anatomic features and best imaging techniques of normal PTT and PBT using musculoskeletal ultrasound and compared these findings to subjects with inflammatory arthritis.

Necrotizing autoimmune myopathy (NAM) is a recently recognized entity within the spectrum of idiopathic inflammatory myopathies. Diagnosis critically rests on histopathologic demonstration of macrophage predominant myocyte destruction, with few to no lymphocytes. We report our experience with identifying and treating this subset of inflammatory myositis, highlighting the importance of muscle biopsy in diagnosis, association with statin use and malignancy, and challenges of therapy.

Objective: To determine whether anti-peptidylarginine deiminase type 4 (PAD4) antibodies were present in first-degree relatives (FDR) of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in 2 indigenous North American populations with high prevalence of RA.
Methods: Participants were recruited from 2 indigenous populations in Canada and the United States, including patients with RA (probands), their unaffected FDR, and healthy unrelated controls. Sera were tested for the presence of anti-PAD4 antibodies, anticyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP) antibodies, and rheumatoid factor (RF).
Background: Rheumatoid arthritis is characterized by the presence of circulating auto-antibodies, including rheumatoid factors, which recognize the Fc portion of IgGs. The neutrophil is the most abundant circulating leukocyte and it expresses high levels of FcγRs on its surface. This study was undertaken to determine whether the serum cytokine profile of first-degree relatives of North American Native patients with RA differed from that of individuals with no family history of autoimmunity and whether there was an association with RA autoantibodies.
Methods: North American Native patients with RA (n = 105), their first-degree relatives (n = 273), healthy North American Native controls (n = 200), and Caucasian controls (n = 150) were studied.
