Background: Oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) perception is age-dependent and therefore different for children, adolescents, and adults. Adolescents are a critical age group with specific oral health needs. Oral health needs assessment is not complete without the estimation of OHRQoL.

What makes a tool appropriate to assess patient-reported outcomes of periodontal disease?

Context: Patient-reported outcomes (PROs) have become primary or secondary outcome measure in clinical trials and epidemiological studies in Medicine and Dentistry in general and Periodontology in particular. PROs are patients' self-perceptions about consequences of a disease or its treatment. They can be used to measure the impact of the disease or the effect of its treatment.

Extranodal Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma of the Oral Cavity: A Case Report.

Lymphomas are solid malignant tumors having a wide spectrum of clinical and pathological features. Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) is a subtype of lymphoma with two-thirds of the cases presenting as lymph node enlargement. The remaining one third of NHL cases has been reported in the extranodal sites, including the gastro intestinal tract, Waldeyer's ring, bone, skin, and brain.

Evaluation, using extracted human teeth, of Ricetral as a storage medium for avulsions--an in vitro study.

The prognosis of teeth replanted following avulsion is determined by the extra-alveolar time and storage medium used. This study was undertaken to determine the efficacy of an oral rehydration solution 'Ricetral', in retaining the vitality of periodontal ligament cells when used as a storage medium for avulsed teeth prior to replantation. The study consisted of a comparative evaluation between Ricetral and two currently recommended solutions, Hank's balanced salt solution (HBSS) and milk.
