The LIFE SURFING Project was carried out at the Bailin Landfill in Sabiñánigo, Spain (2020-2022), applying Surfactant Enhanced Aquifer Remediation (SEAR) and In Situ Chemical Oxidation (S-ISCO) in a 60-meter test cell beneath the old landfill, to remediate a contaminated aquifer with dense non-aqueous phase liquid (DNAPL) from nearby lindane production. The project overcame traditional extraction limitations, successfully preventing groundwater pollution from reaching the river. In spring 2022, two SEAR interventions involved the injection of 9.

While there are varying opinions on what age to begin and at what interval to perform breast cancer screening, screening mammography is recommended for all women irrespective of disability. Unfortunately, women with disabilities are more likely to present with later-stage disease and higher mortality owing to the barriers for more widespread screening in this population. Women with disabilities may experience challenges accessing breast imaging services, and imaging centers may have suboptimal facilities and staff who are inexperienced in caring for this population.

Background: The use of preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for early-stage breast cancer (ESBC) is increasing, but its utility in detecting additional malignancy is unclear and delays surgical management (Jatoi and Benson in Future Oncol 9:347-353, 2013. https://doi.org/10.

Straelensia cynotis is a trombidioid mite that causes painful, usually nonpruritic nodular dermatitis mainly in the dorsal region of dogs. This case report describes the first observation of feline straelensiosis in Europe with clinicopathological findings. Molecular characterisation of the parasite was performed and compared with mites collected from dogs.

Introduction: Recent recommendations of core outcome sets for haemophilia highlight the need for including measures of performance-based physical health and physical function sustainability. To date, there is no consensus on what outcomes might be of value to clinicians and patients.

Aim: To identify instruments of performance-based physical function to monitor musculoskeletal health in people with haemophilia that are practical in the clinical setting.

Background: Adherence to antihypertensive drugs (AHDs) is crucial for controlling blood pressure (BP). We aimed to determine the effectiveness of measuring AHD concentrations using a dried blood spot (DBS) sampling method to identify nonadherence, combined with personalized feedback, in reducing resistant hypertension.

Methods: We conducted a multicenter, randomized, controlled trial (RHYME-RCT, ICTRP NTR6914) in patients with established resistant hypertension.

Background: Improved treatment options for people with haemophilia (PWH) have increased the possibilities for sports participation, but the risk of sports-induced bleeding (SIB) is still considered considerable by many.

Aim: To assess sports associated injury- and bleeding risk in PWH and to assess clotting levels associated with safe sports participation.

Methods: Sports injuries and SIBs were prospectively collected for 12 months in PWH aged 6-49 without inhibitors playing sports at least once weekly.

Introduction: Predicting the risk of sports injuries and sports-induced bleeds (SIBs) in people with haemophilia (PWH) may support clinical counselling.

Aim: To assess the association between motor proficiency testing and sports injuries and SIBs and to identify a specific set of tests for predicting injury risk in PWH.

Methods: In a single centre, prospective study male PWH aged 6-49 playing sports ≥1x/week were tested for running speed and agility, balance, strength and endurance.

A woman in her mid 40s presented for breast imaging after 1 week of painful and enlarged right axillary lymphadenopathy. She denied history of fever, weight loss, night sweats fatigue, cat scratch or other trauma. She received the second dose of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine 3 months previously on the contralateral arm.

The presence of mammographically evident hyperdense foci within axillary lymph nodes elicits concern for calcium deposits, which in turn have a wide differential diagnosis including both benign and malignant entities. Tissue sampling, most commonly by way of image-guided core needle biopsy, is needed in many cases when a definite etiology cannot be clinically established. In this case series we present history, imaging findings, and pathology results (or long term follow-up stability as biopsy surrogate) of several women with body tattoos who at mammography were noted to have a characteristic pattern of "bubbly" pseudo-calcifications within axillary lymph nodes, and absence of other mammographic, sonographic and clinical abnormalities.

Background: Motor development is one of the first signals to identify whether an infant is developing well. For very preterm (VPT) infants without severe perinatal complications, little is known about their motor developmental curves.

Aims: Explore gross motor developmental curves from 3 until 18 months corrected age (CA) of VPT infants, and related factors.

Introduction: The rate of mastectomy in lumpectomy-eligible patients with unilateral breast cancer is increasing. We sought to investigate the association between magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and surgical management of patients with early-stage breast cancer by comparing the rate of mastectomy as first surgery in patients with and without preoperative MRI.

Methods: A bi-institutional retrospective study included patients diagnosed between 2016 and 2020.

Introduction: The Haemophilia Activities List (HAL) and paediatric HAL assess self-reported limitations in various daily activities. To reduce patient burden, shorter versions of the pedHAL (22 items) and HAL (18 items) have been developed.

Aim: This study aimed to determine the agreement between the pedHAL/HAL and pedHAL/HAL and construct validity and internal consistency of the pedHAL HAL in persons with haemophilia (PWH).

Image-guided core-needle breast and axillary biopsy (CNB) is the standard-of-care procedure for the diagnosis of breast cancer. Although the risks of CNB are low, the most common complications include bleeding and hematoma formation. Post-procedural bleeding is of particular concern in patients taking antithrombotic therapy, but there is currently no widely established standard protocol in the United States to guide antithrombotic therapy management.

Objective: To compare readers' performances when detecting architectural distortion (AD) on digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT). To determine the risk of malignancy of DBT with synthetic mammogram (SM)-detected AD and evaluate imaging features that are associated with malignancy risk.

Methods: This IRB-approved retrospective review included all cases of DBT-detected AD that were recommended for biopsy from October 2013 to July 2019.

Infants with critical congenital heart defects (CCHDs) are at increased risk for neurodevelopmental delays. The early identification of motor delays is clinically relevant to prevent or reduce long-term consequences. The current study aims to describe the motor-developmental pathways of infants with a CCHD.

Background: Long term outcome data on bimanual performance in children with perinatal arterial ischaemic stroke (PAIS) and periventricular haemorrhagic infarction (PVHI) with and without unilateral spastic cerebral palsy (USCP) is sparse.

Aims: To assess bimanual performance in children with PAIS or PVHI with and without USCP and to explore the relationship with unilateral hand function and full-scale IQ (FSIQ) in a cross-sectional study.

Methods: Fifty-two children with PAIS (n = 27) or PVHI (n = 25) participated at a median age of 12 years and 1 month (range 6-20 years).

Nonadherence to antihypertensive drugs is an important reason for not reaching blood pressure goals. A possible method to improve nonadherence involves three essential steps: identification of nonadherent patients (step 1), determination of underlying causes (step 2) and a personalized solution (step 3). We present three unique cases to show the importance and difficulties of this three-step approach.

Purpose: To systematically review evidence regarding the severity and prevalence of motor development in children with a critical congenital heart defect (CCHD) without underlying genetic anomalies.

Summary Of Key Points: Twelve percent of all included studies reported abnormal mean motor developmental scores, and 38% reported below average motor scores. Children with single-ventricle physiology, especially those with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, had the highest severity and prevalence of motor delay, particularly at 0 to 12 months.
