Introduction: The American Heart Association (AHA/ACC) sets as a goal for blood pressure (BP) control not to exceed values of 130/80 mmHg, both in individuals with and without a diagnosis of hypertension (HT), standards not evaluated so far in the Argentine population. The objective was to determine the prevalence of high BP (HBP) in individuals with and without a diagnosis of HT taking into account the AHA/ACC criteria and to evaluate its association with sociodemographic and lifestyle factors.
Materials And Methods: Cross-sectional populationbased study in 911 persons >18 years of age in Córdoba, Argentina (period 2020-2022).
Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) increases cardiovascular risk, however, traditional cardiovascular risk factors cannot entirely explain it. A real-world investigation examined the concept that renal function decline is linked to carotid total plaque area progression, which strongly confirms cardiovascular risk. We analyzed CKD patients in stages 1-3 to find risk factor relationships before the onset of severe CKD.

The selected Cr/PNP system under optimized condition exhibited high 1-octene-selective (up to 70 wt %) ethylene tetramerization at a remarkable rate (over 3000 kg gCr h). More importantly, the undesirable polyethylene selectivity was restricted to a minimum level of ∼1-2 wt % for pre-catalysts derived with ligands and .

Upon activation with MMAO-3A, the pre-catalyst mixture containing Cr(acac)/ligand efficiently promotes ethylene tetramerization with remarkably high productivities (up to 1733 kg g h) and C olefin selectivities (up to 74.1 wt%).

Nitric oxide (NO) inhibits NaCl reabsorption while 8-iso-prostaglandin-F2α (8-iso-PGF2α) stimulates it. Their interaction has not been evaluated in the cTAL.

We describe a compassionate use program that offered this therapy to hospitalized COVID-19 patients.
Methods: NaIHS (50 mg ibuprofen, tid) was provided in addition to standard of care (SOC) to hospitalized COVID-19 patients until oxygen saturation levels of > 94% were achieved on ambient air.
Introduction: Chemsex in a European context is the use of any of the following drugs to facilitate sex: crystal methamphetamine, mephedrone and gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB)/gamma-butyrolactone (GBL) and, to a lesser extent, cocaine and ketamine. This study describes the prevalence of self-reported recreational drug use and chemsex in HIV-positive men who have sex with men (MSM) accessing HIV services in four countries. It also examines the problematic impacts and harms of chemsex and access to chemsex-related services.

Background And Aim: Addressing chronic problems requires a model of care that promotes self-management of the disease and facilitates adherence to treatment. This project was designed to enhance patient's clinical and functional outcomes through a Comprehensive Model to be implemented in our health system and to evaluate the results.
Methods And Results: Different population stratification tools were tested and designed to classify subjects according to different variables.
Diphyllobothriosis caused by the Pacific broad tapeworm Adenocephalus pacificus (syn. Diphyllobothrium pacificum) is an emerging parasitic disease reported also from non-endemic areas, including Europe (Spain). The origin of these human cases is unknown but should be related to fresh marine fish imported from endemic areas.

The development of a hydrosoluble form of ibuprofen can be a strategy to reach a high concentration in the lungs by using modern inhalation devices. Therefore, the development of an inhalable formulation with high bioavailability in the lungs was the leitmotiv of our investigation.

The maximum tolerated dose (MTD) obtained after intravenous administration of GM1-Ptx in mice was 55 mg/kg and the 50% lethal dose (LD50) was 70 mg/kg. This value is higher than those described for the commercial formulations TAXOL and ABRAXANE, with LD50 of 30 and 45 mg/kg respectively.

To evaluate the impact that fisheries have on food webs and on the interactions between species, it is necessary to describe and quantify the diet of the species involved and follow it through time. This study compares the diet of five skate species using the data obtained from the by-catch of the Argentine hake (Merluccius hubbsi) fishery in north and central Patagonia, Argentina.

In particular, ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids are able to activate nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf-2) to prevent diabetes mellitus-related complications by mitigating oxidative stress.

Although a family medical history of premature cardiovascular events (FHx) has been considered the putative RF for decades, it has not been incorporated routinely into cardiovascular risk evaluation along with another RF. The objective of this study was to investigate whether FHx is associated with a higher atherosclerotic burden, measured as carotid total plaque area (TPA) in a population having no traditional RF.

Yttrium alkyl, indolide, and amide complexes were prepared and structurally characterized; close contacts between the anthracenyl substituents and Y-bound ligands are observed in the solid state. Titanium, zirconium, and hafnium tris(dimethylamido) complexes were synthesized, and their ethylene polymerization activity was tested.

However, the relative role of these paratenic hosts in the transmission to definitive hosts has seldom been assessed quantitatively.
