Article Synopsis
  • This study investigates the photoluminescence (PL) properties of double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWCNTs) through density functional theory (DFT), focusing on various armchair/armchair configurations.
  • The research examines several parameters, including axial lengths (0.49 nm to 2.33 nm), inner nanotube diameters (0.31 to 1.22 nm), and inter-wall separations (0.18 to 0.61 nm).
  • The findings highlight that the coupled effects of curvature and inter-wall interactions in these metallic SWCNTs significantly influence their electronic structure, enhancing PL and causing quenching effects.

This article contains data on nanoporous carbon materials coming from lignocellulosic components. Such data is directly related to the research paper "Insights into the design of carbon electrodes coming from lignocellulosic components pyrolysis with potential application in energy storage devices: A combined and experimental study" [1]. In this work, the geometrical parameters of nanoporous carbon systems were found with Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations at the ReaxFF level.
