Therapy dogs have been increasingly incorporated into a variety of medical treatment programs to improve patients' treatment outcomes and wellbeing. However, research investigating the stress level of therapy dogs in this setting is limited. This is the first randomized-controlled and prospective study that investigated the wellbeing of therapy dogs in an inpatient stroke rehabilitation program.

Introduction: Sonidegib and vismodegib are currently the only US Food and Drug Administration and European Medicines Agency-approved small-molecule Hedgehog pathway inhibitors (HHIs)for treating adults with advanced or refractory basal cell carcinoma (BCC) that is not amenable to conventional surgery or radiotherapy. At this time, there are no head-to-head clinical trials comparing these two HHIs for efficacy and safety to assist clinicians with determining which HHI may be best suited for their patients.

Despite the potential influence of PT provider continuity on functional outcomes in the inpatient rehabilitation setting, this association has not yet been studied.

Aim: Metformin is used for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and is being tested clinically as an anticancer agent. Methods: Data from 50 participants with Parkinson's Disease (n = 15), age-similar healthy adults (n = 15) and healthy young adults (n = 20) were analyzed in this cross-sectional, observational study.

We investigated the usage of two silica nanomaterials (surface-modified) and alkali in enhanced oil recovery through Amott spontaneous imbibition tests, interfacial tension (IFT) measurements, and phase behavior. The effect of sonidegib (LDE225) on the pharmacokinetics of bupropion and warfarin in patients with advanced solid tumours.

Aims: We evaluated the potential effect of sonidegib at an oral dose of 800 mg once daily (QD) on the pharmacokinetics (PK) of the probe drugs warfarin (CYP2C9) and bupropion (CYP2B6).

Methods: This was a multicentre, open-label study to evaluate the effect of sonidegib on the PK of the probe drugs warfarin and bupropion in patients with advanced solid tumours. Cohort 1 patients received a single warfarin 15-mg dose on Day 1 of the run-in period and on Cycle 2 Day 22 (C2D22) of sonidegib administration.

We are developing magnetic nanoparticle (NP) methods to characterize inflammation and infection in vivo. Peritoneal infection in C57BL/6 mice was used as a biological model. An intraperitoneal NP injection was followed by measurement of magnetic nanoparticle spectroscopy of Brownian rotation (MSB) spectra taken over time.

Until relatively recently, a diagnosis of probable Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other neurodegenerative disorders was principally based on clinical presentation, with post-mortem examination remaining a gold standard for disease confirmation. This is in sharp contrast to other areas of medicine, where fluid biomarkers, such as troponin levels in myocardial infarction, form an integral part of the diagnostic and treatment criteria. There is a pressing need for such quantifiable and easily accessible tools in neurodegenerative diseases.

Treadmill walking alters stride time dynamics in Parkinson's disease.

Background: Treadmill training may be used to improve gait rhythmicity in people with Parkinson's disease. Treadmills, however, alter dynamical stride time fluctuations in healthy adults in a manner that mimics pathologic states, indicating the stride-to-stride fluctuations that characterize healthy gait are constrained. It is unclear if treadmills similarly alter dynamic gait properties in Parkinson's disease.
