A simple and efficient procedure for synthesizing novel pincer-type tridentate N-heterocyclic carbene bisphenolate ligands is reported. The synthesis of pincer proligands with ,'-disubstituted imidazoline core, and , was carried out via triethylorthoformate-promoted cyclization of either ,'-bis(2-hydroxy-3,5-di--butylphenyl)cyclohexanediamine, , or ,'-bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)cyclohexanediamine, , in the presence of concentrated hydrochloric acid. Cyclic voltammograms of the ligands revealed ligand-centered redox activity, indicating the noninnocent nature of the ligands.

In single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, Ag(I) complexes adopted a trigonal planar geometry, while Au(I) complexes are near-linear. TD-DFT and hole-electron analyses of the selected complexes gave insight into the electronic features of the metal complexes.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFSupervised deep learning has become a standard approach to solving medical image segmentation tasks. However, serious difficulties in attaining pixel-level annotations for sufficiently large volumetric datasets in real-life applications have highlighted the critical need for alternative approaches, such as semi-supervised learning, where model training can leverage small expert-annotated datasets to enable learning from much larger datasets without laborious annotation. Most of the semi-supervised approaches combine expert annotations and machine-generated annotations with equal weights within deep model training, despite the latter annotations being relatively unreliable and likely to affect model optimization negatively.

The detection performance of deep CNNs may be reduced by noisy X-ray images. To improve the robustness of a deep CNN against impulse noise, we propose a novel CNN approach using adaptive convolution, with the aim to ameliorate COVID-19 detection in noisy X-ray images without requiring any preprocessing for noise removal.

Accurate estimation of precipitation is the most important topic in hydrological studies. Due to the lack of a dense network and low temporal and spatial resolution levels at ground-level rain gauges, especially in developing countries, remote sensing methods have been used widely.

Modular synthesis and ease of electronic and steric adjustability made this class of sigma donors highly popular among chemists. While the nature of the metal-carbon bond in transition metal complexes bearing N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) is predominantly considered to be neutral sigma or dative bonds, the strength of the bond is highly dependent on the energy match between the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) of the NHC ligand and that of the metal ion.

Creating an accurate image-based processing system for screening patients can help in the early diagnosis of this disease. We provided a dataset containing1078 confirmed negative and 469 positive Mycobacterium tuberculosis instances.
