The influence of anthropological features on ball flight speed in handball.

The purpose of this study, done on the sample of 41 students of Faculty of Kinesiologyi in Split was to determinate the differences in anthropological characteristics between students who achieved above average and students who achieved under average ball flight speed after jump shoot in handball. Anthropological characteristics were defined by 16 variables, 6 of them were used for the estimation of morphological characteristics, 7 variables for evaluation of motor characteristics and one variable each for evaluation of kinetic, kinematics and technical parameters of shooting. The significant differences were determined in variables for evaluation of longitudinal dimensionality of dominant arm, explosive strength of pull-out agility, strength of the hand grip, hand flexion ability for the ball throw-out and finally, correct and sound technique of the throw-out movement.

Differences in anthropologic characteristics between kinesiologically active and inactive female students.

On the sample of 156 female students in the first and the second year of the Faculty of Philosophy in Split, aged 18-20, we have analyzed the differences in certain dimensions of the anthropological system between the students who were or are still engaged in different aspects of sport activities and students who have never been engaged in any sport activities. To assess the anthropological status we used 15 tests, 4 out of which were used to assess morphological characteristics, 7 to assess motor abilities and 4 to assess personal characteristics. Evaluation models of some morphological characteristics for talent scouting in sport.

In this paper, for the purpose of expert system evaluation within the scientific project "Talent scouting in sport", two methodological approaches for recognizing an athlete's morphological compatibility for various sports has been presented, evaluated and compared. First approach is based on the fuzzy logic and expert opinion about compatibility of proposed hypothetical morphological models for 14 different sports which are part of the expert system. Second approach is based on determining the differences between morphological characteristics of a tested individual and top athlete's morphological characteristics for particular sport.

Biomotor structures in elite female handball players according to performance.

In order to identify biomotor structures in elite female handball players, factor structures of morphological characteristics and basic motor abilities, and of variables evaluating situation motor abilities of elite female handball players (n = 53) were determined first, followed by determination of differences and relations of the morphological, motor and specific motor space according to handball performance. Some anthropologic characteristics of elite female handball players at different playing positions.

Differences in motor and psychologic variables according to playing positions were analyzed in a sample of 53 elite female handball players, members of junior and senior national team. Motor status included 8 variables for assessment of explosive strength of landing and throwing, agility, speed strength, movement frequency, and flexibility. The contribution of collective attack tactics in differentiating handball score efficiency.

The prevalence of 19 elements of collective tactics in score efficient and score inefficient teams was analyzed in 90 First Croatian Handball League--Men games during the 1998-1999 season. Prediction variables were used to describe duration, continuity, system, organization and spatial direction of attacks. Analysis of the basic descriptive and distribution statistical parameters revealed normal distribution of all variables and possibility to use multivariate methods.
